This may be a bit premature, but I'd be willing to commit to whatever portion of the tail-feathers are available.

I'd like to build something easy (i.e. the rudder).

Put me down for the Stab and Elevators.

Well, since the tailfeathers have been spoken for, put me down for the interplane struts.

Scroll down at the bottom of this web page. You will see links to 4 charities that RCU supports. After the Plane is auctioned off, the proceeds are going to RC Universe to donate to a charity that they support. Or we may recommend that they give the money to only one of there charities like the Humane Society or split it up among the 4. RCU has a PayPal account, so when the Plane sells, the buyer should be able to make the payment directly to RCU(With permission from RCU). The finished Plane will be in the hands of an RCU Moderator who will see that the Plane gets to the buyer, or is around for the buyer to pick up. A Plane this large will probally have to be a pick up only kind of thing. We all seem to spend quite a bit of time here on RCU, so I believe it is in our best interest to show our support to RCU. When RCU donates money to a good cause, it makes the whole hobby look good.

Bipe Flyer said he had some 1/3 scale plans for the Pitts. Still waiting for him to chime in here to get the details on the plans he has, and if it will be possible to make copies from them. We will most certainly have to have permission from Jim Leroy to use his graphics. So if you want to contact him, that would be great. I am going to snoop around the net, and see what I can find out in regards to Plans.

Once we come up with the plans, we will have to do some study of the Plans, and come up with a materials list. We will start an organized viewable list, and begin work on compiling the materials. We will check materials off the list as we aquire them, and this will also show what is needed in case anyone would like to help support this project. Any and all donors will be recognized as sponsoring the project, and there genorisity should also be tax deductable since this project is to auctioned for charity(Ask you tax man). We will also start to compile a list of who is doing what based on comments that have allready been posted, and things people volunteer to do in the future. For a quallity looking covering job, I think it best if we designate Stickbuilder and CubNut as the covering team. They can work out between themselves who will do what parts and how much. They will also have to get together and compile a list of covering materials they will need. They will have to agree upon the same materials.

ckangaroo70,
Can you post a summary of who is committed to what so far??? I've been kind of busy on a couple of real world things the last couple of days and am now getting back here. I guess I'm still in for the final assembly.

One thing I think we may need tasked out. A shipping crate. If somebody out there is good at building them we may need to have one built up to get this around.

Ken

.Well,I`ve sent an email off, to Jim Leroy, asking for Permission, to model his Aircraft, at an 80" wingspan.I told him, what we have in mind..We`ll have to wait, to hear from him Now...I believe that he` doing an airshow this weekend, so I don`t expect to hear from him for a couple days..

I want something of a challange, to do on/with this model too...Paint Job??Cockpit?Half a wing??I suppose, once we get permission to use, BipeFlyers plans for this project,We`ll be able to go over the Drawings, and ,Break down the tasks,so everyone has a good job to do.. I`ll let everyone know MR.Leroys` answer once I get it
