I too want to see this thing get completed.I have donated the short kit and canopy to help with the project.Keep in mind, there are some pretty large events around the country that we show this plane and get a great response on the faffle.Joe Nall comes to mind first and that gives us some additional time.I think getting a lot of the big stuff donated may be a problem,so maybe we raffle the plane and who ever wins puts the radio gear and engine of his choice.Just my opinion, sorry for the type o's just in a hurry!!

Guys,
We are trying to do something good here!! I think it will happen but not at the pace that everyone would like to see. I hope we can put together a complete plane ready to fly. If we can't get the engine then so be it but I would like to see it as complete as possible. I am sure that when we complete the plane and it is just sitting there waiting on an engine then someone will step up and donate one or help with money to purchase one. I don't think it will be ready for Toledo either but that is not the end of the world. There are other venues and there is always Toledo 2008
I don't think the timeline is as important as getting the project completed.
Just my $.02 worth!!!!
Anthony

I don't disagree with anything that you have said. In fact, I totally agree. I, too, am up against a wall with this build. I am still waiting for the necessary parts to be able to finish the fuselage. I can cut them myself, but I was waiting for the parts to arrive. Enough ! I'll cut them myself.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas.

Bill
I thought you had said you could wait till I got the engine box made. I offered to send the F1 and F2, but I thought you stated you could wait. I hope you wasn't just being sarcastic. Anyhow I will just have to send the F1 and F2 out to you without the engine box. The friend of mine who has use of the laser has been away for the holidays in Oregan so I cant have them made until he gets back on Jan 2nd. Hope you all found some nice things under your tree.

I can wait. We are not going to make Toledo this year at any rate. Don't spend the extra bucks in shipping. I have done what is possible without the formers. The fuse sides have to be pinned to F-1 to be able to twist the sides into submission.

Its not that I am really a tight wad I just really wanted to ship you everything you requested in one shot. The F1 and F2 are laying up at the mill, and I think they turned out very nice. That laser is something neat to watch, and wish I had one of my own. Don't think wife would let me spend the $30,000 on one though like they have. Anyhow I don't want to be the one to heed progress, and I was hoping to have it all done before now. My Dad owns a cabinet shop, and I guess I still could just cut the engine box myself using his scroll saw and band saw, but that laser sure is precise!

Might as well wait until you have all the parts. We don't have a lot of the stuff as of yet anyway. Whattya mean she won't let you spend the 30 grand on a laser? What a tightwad!!! Just explain to her how much money you would save in buying kits. 30 large is a bargain. I have almost that much tied up in tools to be able to build. She should be gladd to let you spend the money.

It sure has gotten quiet in here. Has everyone abandoned the build?

Been busy time for everyone I am sure. People running here, and running there. Eating a dinner here and eating a dinner there, and then comes along New Years, where everybody probally has probally partied a little to hard. I Know it has been a hectic time around my house, and I will be glad to see things slow back down some. The fact that I am up this early and typing this is amazing considering the time I went to bed. In all seriousness though, it has been a busy time for many I am sure. This project, and my little Bridi build sure have been neglected by me during the holidays, but it just seems that the wife and kids all have someplace I supposed to be other than where I would like to be this time of year.

Good to see you two guys in here still. I am seeing virtually everyone who was in at first, contributing on other threads, but they avoid this thread like the plague. Just wondered.

I knew you would be up early. I used to live out by you in Elk City, and one thing about the beer there is that you can't drink enough of it to have a hang over. I believe it is 3.2 beer, or was when I lived there. You could gulp that stuff all night and wake up the next morning feeling great unlike the 5.0 beer we have here in Illinois that makes you feel like someone clubbed you in the head the next morning.

I decided to start my Jack Stafford Chipmunk instead of getting back on my Ziroli Stearman,
I am ready to start the covering process on the Pitts as soon as I get the plane. The Chipmunk has foam wings and this is my 1st experience with working with foam. So far so good, I wish I had built this sooner then I would have tackled the wings on the Pitts
Later!!
