What components would you like me to send to you so that you can take time away from your current projects to build? I'm going as hard as I can to make time to build this plane, but I won't let it take the front burner. I tried that last year, and due to the promises that were made by some, and then nothing being forthcoming from them, I missed out on getting to enter some events that I really wanted to attend. I won't do that again. I originally was going to only do the fuselage, but that became cutting the parts too, as well as building the wings, and having to come up with other promised parts. It got expensive quickly. Don't expect to have a daily update on what is going on with the plane. Some days, it's nothing. Other days some things are being done.

I most certainly wasn't referring to your efforts here, they have been stellar...and beyond. As I had been talking about putting up a website for this, I'd been hoping to hear some chiming in from out there (outside the existing circle of builders and present contributors), but there were actually no posts at all to speak of after my 1/08/08 post.
Goodness knows, I'm aware of trying to get your own projects done, please the wife by knocking down enough of the honey-do list, and just get through the days without adding a single thing more to the list. I'm trying to get enough models built to replace an entire stable full, and by spring would like to at least have a small array of sizes and styles, which I have been hard at work on...when time permits ( shoveling the tons and tons of snow falling this year has been KILLING me for time!) We've gotten a snowstorm every two or three days since December 15th... what a nightmare it's been. Add all that to the fact that my job by itself is nothing but solving other people's problems...and I'm having trouble squeezing minutes out of it, let alone hours or a couple of days here and there. I'm DYING to get my crating built for sending to John to get my Waco shipped....everytime I turn around it's a another week later. Sheesh.
Would it perhaps be more prudent for us as a group to pick this up sometime in the spring once we've been able to get our own winter projects done? Anybody who gets done early and wants to move ahead on something could ask you for components or do some organizing, or...??? As far as what I was talking about for the website, all that really requires is information and settling on a precise direction for what we're all going to do. And time, of course...it all takes time....

Status: offline 		It's a shame, it looks as if this build has ground to a hault. Who has the plane? How far along has it come? I know it is flying season and noone wants to be stuck building a plane. I'm just looking for some info. I will start reading back.

Status: offline 		I had real plans to get involved, the next thing I knew I was moving from Maine to San Antonio, Texas. Still in the middle of dealing with that and everything that goes with it. My building projects ground to a halt, I'm working with a laptop on borrowed wireless. Right now we're hoping the craziness ends by next January. It's a good move for us and in the long run it's absolutely the right thing for us to do, but it's really a hard thing to do and we're having to tough it out with bits and pieces of a household split between two places 2500 miles apart...my lady is still in Maine trying to clean up details there so she can be down here with me.

Reading this thread at first, I couldn't see how a project like this could become so stalled, now I have a pretty good idea of how things can go for folks, and I don't think it's that far out to say how things DO go for folks quite often these days.

But I'm staying subscribed.

Status: offline 		I have the plane parts. I waited and waited for the promised formers and firewall. They never came, and the guy who was going to provide them won't even answer pm's or e-mails. I have them cut, and am trying to finish another build so that I can get back on the Bulldog. I got hung up waiting for the custom made gear set for my other build, but I have been notified that the gear is on the way, so that will free up the building table (the other one is locked in a jig to keep things located).

This build is not stopped, nor is it forgotten. It is typical for a volunteer group to have the best of intentions, and then a critical element falls by the wayside, and the slack has to be taken up by someone else. Not a condemnation, just a statement of fact.

Status: offline 		OK all you Bulldog lovers.The Bulldog II was cranked up and ran well this past week,thanks to help from Jason.A few more small things to work out and she will be ready for the maiden.Stay tuned.Bill thanks for all your dedication to the RCU Bulldog project,I know it will get finished in the future.
