When I split up the parts, I will do the fuselage in one piece. I will also do full sheet plans which can be printed off on a single 8.5X11 page for reference. I'll do the plans in BFM format, which only works with Tile Print. If someone will print full size plans and mail them out (there are 4 sheets) then I will send DXF files to that person.

Can someone compile and PM me a list of people's emails so I can send the plans and Tile Print unlock keys?

Here's some stuff to get started with.

Here is a link to the .46 size article from the October 2001 Model Aviation Canada.

Here's a link to the construction article that I sent out when I used to sell short kits.

Here is a zip file for the vinyl graphics. They can be cut out at any sign shop. They will need to be resized for 1/3 scale.

My email address is webmaster@infinityok.com

I'll cut all the graphics for this since I do vinyl graphics already.

Jim LeRoy graciously offers his graphics set for all modelers to use right on his site... and therefore no direct "permission" is needed.

I built a modified Challeneger III (Dave Dessecker modded from Miles Reed plans of the C2) and it turned out real nice... Though some aspects would need modded to match Jim's Actual plane...

It's a pretty straightforward build all stick... no foam... and the cowl is built up too. He offers a shortkit with cabanes, gear and canopy for like $75...

It features a sepearte plane for each wing, fuse, stab, etc... good for a project like this...

ANywho, I have one I need to finish... maybe this has given me the umph to do so...

Good luck guys...

Hey Bipe

I read your construction article, and that is fantastic. I especialy like that balsa cowl. If you ever get back in the short kit business, let me know! I'll buy one from you!

What are peoples opinions regarding building foam wings or stick built? My big Cap 232 has foam wings, and so have other planes of mine, but for this build we may need to figure out a way to stick build the wings just so we don't make the task to easy. Of coarse I am sure there is probally work in sheeting a foam core wing, and there is also the matter of getting it cut. Personally I have no preference, but I would like to hear what the rest think!

That is a nice article... great job!

I had started a build tutorial on the 50cc Bulldog (69.5" I believe) and have the fuse, wings and balsa cowl tutorials in place at:

..Here`s a Thought.Since, we really have, way, too many guys, to build this Plane. How about, we Divide into 3 Groups? A,1`st prize , 2`nd prize ,+,a 3`rd prize groups..We Build 3 Bulldogs,to Raffle. They could be all scaled down, from, 1`st place being the largest @ 1/3 scale ,2`nd is slightly smaller,3`rd is the Smallest..Regardless, we need to do a serious Sponser Drive, and start to accumulate Things needed...I think, Bipeflyer, has our Backs, in regards to plans. But, an Awfull lot of this Build ,is Falling on to 1 persons laps.If nothing Else, we need to spread this work out ,so everyone has, a meaningfull job to do ,that suits there Talents..

OH my, that would be a challenge! Right now though I will be glad to see us get this one built, and then we can base any future charity projects on what we learn during this one. We have a task ahead to try and get some materials to build this one plane. It may also prove easier in the future to get more sponsorships once people see that we pulled this one off, and that our efforts went to a great cause, and also helped to promote the building side of this hobby. Our endeavor shows good teamwork, sets an example for other modelers that challenging yourself in any hobby or sport you participate in will make you a better hobbiest, or sportsman. So at this point, I will be happy to see us scrape up enough sponsorship for this build, and depending on the amount of future support we can then base that on what, and how much we can build.

We will make sure that nobody has to do more than they wish to do. This is a total volunteer thing, so some may be perfectly happy to more while others happier to build less. As long as nobody bites off more than they wish to chew, we will make sure everybody gets a piece of the action whether it be a big piece or little piece. As was stated from the start, we will not dump things off on somebodys lap. If we need more help with a particular part of the plane, then we will recruit somebody interested in helping with that. So the reason I wanted so many team members is so people would have the option to do as much or as little as they wanted, but yet we would still have plenty to get the project done. I assure everybody that nobody is going to get left out here, and nobody is going to get stuck doing it all. There will be more to do than realized, and there are plenty of other ways people might decide to help. For example: Anthony said he knows a guy where he might be able to get some rib stitching. Somebody else might know someone who owns a hobby shop that might have some hardware they would donate, etc etc. Bipe Flyer has made available to us his plans, and tile program. RCKen is donating and applying graphics. I have a guy who sent me a pm who is willing to copy plans for us, etc etc. Like a movie, everybody will have some part here to play. One guy might be the star of the show, and one guy might be the guy who does the lighting. It takes all of them to bring the movie together no matter how big or small there role is, and each is just as important as the other.

Do we have any idea who will be supplying the wood and adhesives? Hopefully, the person who will be purchasing the wood has some idea of what kind of wood to look for. And hopefully they will know the difference between lite-ply and aircraft ply. Not trying to be critical before the fact, but..........

Bill

We will need to compile a material list of everything needed to do the build once we see the plan, and then we will see what we can do to aquire these materials. Bipe Flyer may have a material list for the smaller size. So maybe we can go off that and then just do the math on how much more it woill take to do the larger scale we are doing.

I sent the DXF files to CubNut for printing.

I don't have a list of materials, but I do have a file that can be sent to a laser cutter for the fuselage. Just let me know who I should send it to.
