DS I love the decking, great work! For my pushrods I just went to the hobby store and bought some universal metal ones made for planes. Then just cut to the right size.

Hey DS..this is exactly what I did. I bought a pack of great planes servo pushrod connectors to connect onto the servo & then picked out a metal rod that fits perfectly. These are items that you will find in a local hobby shop & is the same stuff aviation hobbyists use. The rods can easily be cut with a pair of pliers.

Well I'll be leaving on my cruise to Canada so I won't be here for a while. In the meantime here is a video from yesterday of my latest build and addition to the fleet, Red Baron.

Enjoy

Hi captains,

I have an entire crew of people coming in over the next few days which will make up the party aboard the Dauntless. In that, I also have the captain of the Dauntless too.

The captain of the Dauntless has an impressive resume.  He was once the Admiral of the G.I. Joe Aircraft Carrier USS Flagg. We couldn't expect anyone less to captain the mighty Dauntless..

Meet Captain Keel Haul.. I think he will be a fine captain for the Dauntless.. He likes to be called "Tommy".

While serving aboard the Dauntless his outfit will be changed to all white along with gold medals.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the crew Rich!

DS the aft deck looks great. You are very skilled at creating a high gloss finish!

Hi captains,

It's been a while since I posted some pics here so here are some. May I introduce the man with the plan... 'the owner' with a few of his friends getting comfy and lounging.

On the business end the astroflight motors are in place with the painted motor mounts and some engineroom detail.

Finally the owners cabin floors was painted grey. Some more work needs to be done here. I am going to rework the door hinges so that I can lower the wall structures some.

Looking god deepsky!!

I'm still pondering if I am going to put a large fish box or a formal seat along port side of the back wall. I'm starting to like the idea of having the back cockpit look like the ultimate fishing station but there's time to decide. Having it look formal is also very tempting too.

How about build both and make it where you can swap one out for the other, as you see fit for the day?

That's not a bad idea either.

Last night one more lovely lady came and joined the party..And I won the engineer as well. Some of his other duties include deckhand duties and cooking.

His outfit and even his gloves will also be painted all white. I am looking to pick up a few more of these figures to use around the boat. I was once in touch with two gentleman, one named Oliver and the other Jim who used to work aboard the big 'D' as needed. It was the captain that would arrange for them to work aboard the boat for times when more crew were needed. This happened when entertaining would happen aboard the boat.

The other two GI Joes that were used in the past will become C.I.A. agents stationed around the boat which was not uncommon. Thier outfits will be painted to reflect that.

Rich - I was looking forward to running mine last weekend. But, unlucky for me, it rained all day Saturday. So that evening I was going to knock out a few 15-minute projects on the boat, but was preoccupied after experiencing my first earthquake (3.4 magnitude). I thought for sure a car had crashed into my house or something. Bizarre!

This weekend's forecast calls for highs in the 50's. I'm cold-natured, so maybe I'll be able to get out to the park and let Dauntless swim a few laps around the pond.

WOW!!!!!!!!!! DF gets rain and a 3.4 groundshaker. Up here in the Seattle area, we've officially had .03" of rain since the beginning of July and our last quake was around a 7.5 that did some serious damage to some of the older buildings in the Puget Sound Basin. Unfortunately, my yard is showing the effects of no rain as well
