Close but other way around, it takes in two batteries 6-8.4 volts and the output is double, up to 16.8V max. I'll clear it up by posting some wiring diagrams tonight.

I get it now...one 6V battery input has a 12V output...

What that esc does is put the 2 batteries in series thereby doubling the voltage. That means you get the most votage out of the combo of 2 batteries but less run time. Not my cup o tea.

I opt for longer run times in my boats so all but one have 2 batteries in parallel.

Yes Deep that is correct and would work fine (your output voltage would be 14.4).

And yes Bill you are correct as well on the series statement as well.

DF are you using this esc? Interesting reading the specs. Notice motor limit and about thermal shutdown. Also about the 0 timing for reverse

My motors & ESC's are Astroflight and you see I have a no-nonsense setup...

I mentioned this time and time again..go for the Astroflight ESC's..

Here is what I find comical...So many people cut corners to save money and then have to spend even more money to do it all over again...I've seen this happen on the forums for years..

Isn't it cheaper to just do it right the first time?

Hi Bill - I was using a single EVX for many years when I had tame Mabuchi 555 motors. But once I upgraded to the 700 motors, one EVX couldn't handle it and died.

DS - On Big Dauntless those seats folded out of the way as needed, so that would be cool to add to your model as well!

Rich - Awesome pics, she's a beauty on the water. And who knew Dauntless would make such a cool looking monster truck in that first pic !

DeepSky - yes those Dumas dog bones will get chewed up like... well... a dog with a tasty bone. Go to the Harbor Models website and order from their selection of couplers instead.

Hi Deepsky,

The Dauntless above once had a buy it now price that was outragous. It seems like the owner decided to be more realistic on his starting price.

Dauntless is a great monster truck...she cruises through the toughest terrain with ease and she doesn't break my back cause I don't have to carry her...

I am able to fit all this in a small Toyota with ease...

Hi Bill,

I took the week off from work so I won't be in the area for a run. When I ran the boat this last time I found out that it was the prop shafts that need regreasing..Hopefully I will have that squared away in the next few days.

Now that I have the week off I am remodelling our bedroom...there's always something on the honey do list. Our room looks like granny's craftroom with all the old floral wallpaper & such. Its the final frontier in our home  that needs a makeover.....It's time to bring it to modern standards..

Hi Bill,

Catching the issue was not very simple. A while back when I was removing a part of the rear keel It split away from the hull causing the glass to crack which resulted in a leak under the owners cabin. I since sealed it but I was worried that it came from there.

yep you were right. Today I dropped the shafts and regreased them. This should do the trick for a little bit.  Now I need to finish up those water wells I started making for the shafts.

I also removed the sound module and got it ready to go back to Canada.
