Marc,

RPM difference is not as much. Maybe 50 more on can. Plane in picture weighs 16 1/4 lbs if you decide to use Pitts muffler you will be in 15 lb range. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

Reza

Trust me Marc, canister is worth the extra weight.
If you want to fly 3d the canister will improve the throttle responce, and it suits 3d flying.
A tuned pipe will not suit as its a bit to peaky and hard to tune, all the power is developed high up in the power band, you do not want this for 3d flying.

If the plane has a canister tunel built in go for it. I know im going to get a canister for mine. You get improved motor responce, nice and quiet operation, and if you get the BMB canisters the motor will run conciderably cooler than if it were on pitts mufflers (is this the same for all other canisters?), and if you can milk a couple more RPM with can's i say im all for it

Plus canisters just look nice and neat, no need to hack that beautiful cowl up to accomodate those ugly, noisy pitts mufflers .

Bummer. This thread is such a tease.

Do you know the length of the airplane with a spinner on? Trying to measure my transport vehicle to make sure she'll fit.

Crashed my 85" Yak today. Not totaled but bad enough to get me back here.

I know this may sound a bit crazy but I have access to a 3w 75. Would it work with an 85" QQ or would it be too heavy and difficult to balance. It is about 1000 grms heavier than a DA50. What are your thoughts? Models for the 75 size motor in very limited in Australia.

Cheers

Nah Mate the 75 would be to big, DA-50 or 3W 50 would be your best bet, Im sticking with my DA-50
Any info on the new QQ Yaks 86". Where are they at now? are they shipping to america yet?

Hi There,

It's a little too much of an engine for that plane.

Thank you,
Reza

Reza,

Do you know if this plane will be offered, as before, in the all-white scheme? If so, will Kirby's decal packages from the 85" still work?

Thanks.

P-man.

P-man,

I think first shipment will be only colored scheme. Hopefully second shipment will have some all white version. BTW, plane won't make it by December, most likely Jan, Feb.

Thank you,
Reza

Hi, just wondering, would a dzy twin 48cc fit in the cowl of the yak, im not sure of the dimensions of the motor nor the cowl, because i am thinking of buying one for my great planes christen eagle, due to it being able to fit in the cowl, then put it on the QQ yak when i get one..... once i save up in the good old bank account ??

I am debating on the EVO 58 and DA 50. The vids I see from QQ (50cc size) never show full throttle from hover. I try to judge the amount of engine needed by the thrust of vertical. The 50cc DA looks like it may hover at 1/2 throttle but, wont have the proper punch . Is it going to be worth the extra weight from the EVO 58 to get the "punch" I desire? Cant wait for FEB!!!
