Status: offline 		I have a new zenhoa 62 in box.... what you think about this engine for this air plane.....?

Zenoha G62 / 62cc / 4.75hp / 73oz
Revolution / 50cc / 5.70hp / 51 oz - $545.-
DL 55 / 55cc / 5.50hp / 54oz - $409.-
RCS 50 / 50cc / 5.00 hp / 64oz - $329.-

as you can see it is heavier than the DLE, but the zenhoa is the one that I have now....

please let me know. the air plane is readdy for the engine...

does any one can tell me if it requaire extra death weigth to balance in front of it ?

Status: online 		Make sure you add wires to the tail section. It's pretty weak back there and with a gas burner it shakes like crazy.

Status: offline 		I didnt use the tail wires and the tail didn´t shacke, I ask DAN that if the tail wires are funtional and he told me NO,,, FLEW LIKE A DREAM WITH THE 3W 42, I put a 950cc gas container on it and it can fly for 45 minutes... great aircraft....

the fly weitgh is more than 18 pounds with full tanks,,, the manual says 14 to 15 pounds fly weigth but mine flyes great around 18.....

the red pitts special is really a great choice..

I'd get a smaller tank. You have 32 oz in there. I'd go for a 16 oz tank.

Status: online 		The Pitts my friend built didnt include tail bracing even though the hard points are/were? on the stab.. Maybe you have a smoother running engine? Maybe the newer kits are better? Regardless of what Dan says..if your tail is oscillating back and forth due to engine vibrating it would be wise to add the wires.

The Great Planes Pitts ARF at the same size as the RC guys is a carbon copy of the old Pilot 1/3.5 S2-A that had a 68.5 inch span. Coincidentally so does a 1/3 S1 so that's why GP called their Pitts a third scale. The Christen Eagle as well although there is only one size of full scale Eagle and at a 19'11" span would be 80". Pilot always showed OS engines on their plans. They illustrated the 68.5 inch Pitts plan with an OS 1.60 twin. So a 2.40 should be fine.

I have plans for Andy Sheber's 1/3 S2-A with an 80 inch span that showns a Fox .78 on the plan as the motor used. He wanted the rear induction OS 80 but could not get one. At the time, these were the the largest glow engines available and there were no gassers. Andy flew his first 18 pound S2-A with a Fox .78. Kiortz came out with a gasser soon after and he went to that. His original S2-A pencil plan gradually had each engine erased and a larger one drawn in as they became avalable. The last one was a Quadra shown for power. I saw a nice Sheber 1/3 S2-A recently with a 3W106B2. Quite an increase over a Fox. 78 that did fly the 80 inch S2-A. I have seen that model weigh as much as 38 pounds with a Zenoah 80 twin.

I watched the RC Guys ARF evolve from the Sheber plan to an ARF. It was originally intended to be flown with a Saito 1.80 four stroke. Curtis Pitts also intended that that the S-1 never have more than a 100 HP engine. What people building it expected fom it was a different matter. It will fly scale like with the 1.80. Toni Clark builds a custom ZG 62cc for their 1/3 Pitts. I have this set-up. Like fast landings?!!! A G45 works well in the RC Guys. A DA50 as well. The Saito 3.00 is magic. Light for the power. The RC Guys Prototype was red and white when conceived buy a Pitts eficionado. When a guy who doesn't worship Pitts and his secretary pick the colors it ends up mauve and whatever. I'm glad it's red and white again although there is no wrong way to paint a Pitts.

Although RC Guys surely gave it their best shot with the "Easter Egg" scheme!

BTW, I crunched my RC Guys Pitts but was able to find a GP Christen for sale. (Gotta have a stubby bipe in the hangar! ) I think their specified scale is something like 28.7%, which is about right. Looks good in the air, and everybody loves a bipe.

Status: offline 		Rick Boyer did a beautiful "Andy Sheber 1/3 scale plans version," 68 inch span with 4.2 Brisson and campaigned it at Top Gun at least once.

Lots of pics and video. With a 4.2 twin it lands hot and grass is prefered to pavement. A beautiful model. The ARF is a good model but there is no direct comparison but for the scale.
