What is the MUS?

Mini Ultra Stick. teriffic plane. I've got three ready to fly and two lits in the closet. I've also got an Ultra stick 25E that I've been flying this week, and I'm building a nitor ultra stick with an OS46AX engine.

Last two days here in Pa.we had 60+ mph winds can't fly unless I want to Kamikaze my plane.I installed longer servo arms on
the MP alerons so I could back the servo % back down from 140%.I want to buy another motor for my MUS what would be a
good choice other than the stock 450.I am looking at Hacker A30-28S,tried the Himax 2816 890 and really liked it but liked
the sound of the e flite better.What about a 480 1080 ???

I would go with the Park 480 BL 1020kv from E-Flite. There are a lot of guys who have put that motor in the MUS and say it hauls.

Started out flying a Super Cub and Typhoon in late August. Bought my first balsa plane last week (MUS PNP) after resisting the urge to buy a MPXT (solely based on its good looks). I flew the Stick yesterday and really liked it, but it's quite a step up from the Typhoon, and I figured it's just a matter of time before I crash it beyond repair.

My rationale for buying a MP this afternoon was to have a recipient airframe standing by for the day the MUS becomes an electric organ donor. Now I'm thinking of cannibalizing the MUS right now and putting a 480 on it down the road so I can fly the Pulse this weekend. I got into this hobby because I figured it would be cheaper than firearms and motorcycles. So far it hasn't worked out that way since no one bothered to tell me how addictive this stuff can be.

Ya, no kidding huh

I have not even flown the Pulse yet and I have already been considering the E-Flite P47 warbird, especially after seeing one in action this weekend.....the madness will never end.

Got the new 1" tailwheel for the Pulse today, big improvement from the little skinny braces rubberband it comes with. I have been taxiing it around and it does much better in the grass with the larger tailwheel.

Stop playing around on the ground with the MP and smash the throttle and pull back on the right stick !!!!
It is a blast to fly,I finally got my replacment 450 outrunner motor for my MUS and installed it.
Weather forcast looks super for tuesday all day and will try to fly both planes.I am going to order a 480
1020kv motor for MUS #2 and turn it into a missle.I just got my new Cellpro 4S balancing charger
and it works awesome, fuel gauge feature is really cool.It balances all cells while charging.Well worth
the money,I also purchased an adapter to charge PolyQuest and TP packs.I ordered a TP Pro Lite 2100
11.1V pack.Make sure you have the dual rates turned on the MP alerons back at least 50% on your first flight,
it is a little twitchy at first til you get used to it.I am using a E flite 10X7 prop and the MP really moves out.

Ya, I know It is kinda an early Christmas present......so I am trying to be good.....but it is not working so well so far

I have the AstroFlight 109 and I use the Blinky balancer while charging, looks like a little cheapy balancer, but it does a great job. And so far I love the charger.

The MUS should be a rocket with the 480 motor, it weighs a little less than the Pulse so it should have no limits with that motor. That is the motor I put on the pulse, and even though I have not flown it yet I really like the motor, really cranks......on the ground......
I have an APC 11x7E on it right now, and it is only pulling 23 amps at full throttle, so I just got an APC 11x8E and will run some tests on that.

I have the Thunder Power 2100mah pack, seems like a great pack so far. Thanks for the advice on the dual rates. I had them set at 75% already to be safe, I may come down a little further now.

An observation abouty the ailerons: I used to fly AMA pattern, and one of the maneuvers was three consecutive rolls. To get it perfect, you did those three rolls in five seconds, so I set all my planes up to do that with full aileron deflection. It turns out that just happens to be an extremely comfortable setting for the ailerons in general. The Pulse rolls just a little slower than that with the settings called for in the manual, so if you use that, the plane will be just about right.........for me anyway.

I've found not enough aileron can be almost as bad as too much. If you don't have enough, you are always chasing the plane and maybe don't have enough throw to get out of trouble. I went with the standard settings and the plasne was just about perfect.

Oh, it certainly is..............

Thunder Power has just come out with a 2050 pack that has a 50 amp discharge rate. The 2100 has a 30 amp rating, so if I understand this right, with the 2050 you can run more prop and not overheat the battery. It's a tad less battery, but I suspect it will run a lot cooler than the 2100, so I will probably pick a couple up. This summer my 2100 packs were running too hot, so the 2050 might be the ticket for me.

I've only worked with an amp meter just a litle, but I'm pulling 30.5 amps with a 12/6 APC. Compared to what you're getting that seems like a lot. It seems like the 12/6 doesn't give you that much more in the air than the 11/7, so I suspect theymight pull about the same. I wonder if I'm doing it wrong, or if my meter might not be working right?

Uhhhhhhh, ok. Double posting is forgivable, but I've got to admit to being a bonehead for triple posting.
