BoysToys, how was your CG? I plan on pulling the exact same setup with a nearly identical battery.

Mine came out a little nose heavy. I had to move the battery way back then still needed to add 1/2 oz of weight to get the CG were Eflite recommends. I am going to order a couple Thunder Power Pro Lite 3S 2100 packs for it. They weigh 30g less (174g for the FP vs. 142 for the TP) than the Evo 25 packs. Or I might go cheap and get a couple of the Loong Max or Zippy 1800 packs from Hobbycity, if they ever get them back in stock!

Good luck this plane is a blast to fly!

I cut the motor extension sleeves in half. It moved the motor aft enough to balance easily by moving the battery.

With a low wing plane, it's much easier and more accurate to balance with the plane upside down. (Cudos to Doc Austin for this idea.)

Just maiden my new Mini pulse (#2) this morning. First flight, dragged my right wing on take off. The plane was diving right, with almost full left aileron I got it flattened out. Hit 4 clicks trim, not much help. Managed to get it turned around and back down safe on the ground. On the ground I hit more trim. Trimmed it to about 3/4 left aile.. Seconed flight, got it into the air, but still needed way too much left aile.. Got it turned around again and back safe on the ground. Quit while I was ahead and did not have my plane in a bag. Called a friend (same guy I bought #1 from) he is going to figure it out for me.

If the wing is flat, and I'd bet it is, try giving the rudder some left trim. Also make sure you're not moving the stick to the right as you apply power on take off. The rudder is very sensitive especially on take off. Giving even slight right rudder (or NOT giving a bit of left rudder) on take off will give you the dive to the right you describe especially if you're running the 480 with the 11/7e prop. If you have a lot of rudder throw, try limiting it and/or dialing in some expo to tame it back a bit until you get used to it.

After I get better with this plane I will have to give that mod a shot. If this plane lasts that long without me turning it into splinters. Right now I am not an accomplished enough pilot to need a feather light plane. If I do total it, I am may switch all of the electronics over to a Mini Ultra Stick or an Eflite Extra 260 3D 480 just to give something else a try.

This is how I balance mine. I just put a dot on each side of the fuse with a Sharpie and check it really quick before as part of my preflight routine.

Turned out that the left elv. was warped up about 1/4". When putting it together I did not think it would matter. It sure did!
Flew it last night on the way home from my friends house, after he flattened out the elv.. Hands shaking she tok off sliht drop of right wing 5 ckicks trim and she flattened out just fine. Had some wind (8-10) landings were ruff, but it still looks like a plane.

I have the Pulse XT 40 - flies great. Just bought the Mini Pulse. The manual lists CG as 2.75", seems too far back, its the same as the 40 size Pulse. Any advice re CG would be much appreciated

Thanks

A pretty lengthy discussion of C/G issues with this plane starts near the bottom of page 52. It does seem pretty far aft of the usual C/G on the wing spar but the MPXT likes it there.

I set my high and low rates along with the CG per the Manual and it flies great! I just flew three packs through it last night and had a blast! Lots of Cuban 8's, split s, immalmans, hammerheads, and anything else I could think of. I love the unlimited vertical that the Park 480 provides. It puts a huge smile on face every time I fly it.

I dont know....its about 1/3 back on the wing root....pretty normal from my experience . Anyway it is a good starting point....this plane isnt super sensitive to CG changes ....anywhere close to 1/3 back and the plane flys well.
