The joiner wire was my initial assumption as well, however it remained intact. Some have guessed radio problems, however, since I have switched to FASST, I have not even experienced a hiccup. When things went bad, the A/C was at eye level, appx. 20 meters away, straight and level unaccelerated, and it was obvious control flutter. From what I could see, it appeared to start outboard on the left and promulgate inboard and accross. My assumption is that it was a flaw exclusive to my airframe either in construction or rigging. I initially thought it was speed related, but given the minimal power system I used in comparson with others on this board, if it were speed related, many others would have experienced the same.

As recommended by other readers, I went out to find some 4-40 nylon bolts for the landing gear. Didn't have luck finding it from 2 hobby shops and a hardware store. I did find a box of various springs at home depot for $4 bucks and I went to rig a new landing gear.

First, I removed the 1/2 inch standard bolts and replaced it with a 1" metal bolt of the same diameter/pitch. I chose a pair of spring that I thought would be good for this application from the variety box, and used some spacer and washer from old r/c parts and came up with a landing gear that will "give" on hard impact and not break the fuselage, or nylon bolt heads. (in theory). On hard landings, the landing gear will act as a hinge and tilt backwards before returning to normal position.

Hey guys,

I just want to update you with my landing gear modification.

After 20+ flight and numerous errrr not so smooth landings, my landing gear is still intact. No buster fuselage, bolts and blind nuts still looking real good.

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to re-iterate the absolute necessity of checking these PNP planes over from head to toe before flying. I neglected to in my haste, and was lucky that it didn't have disastrous results. I bought the Mini Pulse XT PNP a few weeks ago from Horizon and besides sending me the wrong prop adapter and collet, the rest of the limited assembly went pretty much without a hitch. I took it out to the field this past monday for it's maiden flight and noticed a slight vibration at mid throttle. My friend, who is a much more experienced pilot, said that it was probably just the prop adapter rubbing on the cowl so I took it up anyway. Well, the maiden was pretty squirrely, I realized right away that I still needed to do some adjusting to my high and low rates. I did a couple passes none the less and then brought her in for a landing. After I got her back on the ground I noticed that I was missing a wheel. I walked the field a couple of times to no avail and that pretty much ended my day. One pretty hairy flight but at least my plane was still in one piece. I picked up some new wheels the following day and after installing them decided that I needed to investigate this mid throttle vibration a little further. When I removed the cowl I was horrified to find that there were only 2 screws holding the motor to the motor mount and one of the two was on it's way out. I'm so lucky the motor didn't just fall out of the plane in mid air. I don't know if the other 2 screws fell out in mid air or if they were even there in the first place. I know it's my fault for not checking the plane over more thoroughly but I'm a little upset at the quality control over at Eflite. Anyway, just wanted to share this with the hope that others won't be lulled into a false sense of security because there plane says Ready To Fly or Plug and Play. You really can't depend on these manufacturers to assemble their own products the way they are supposed to.

I forgot the motor came mounted on the PNP. I changed out my PNP motor for a park 450bl motor before I flew it the first time. My screws were not very tight on the original motor, if I recall correctly. I will have to double check the 46e motor mount on my Pulse 40 before I have my first flight

It doesn't hurt to go around with a little CA and hit the joints that you can see. Also people recommend taking an iron around the covering edges.

Wow...This thread is still going strong! Just like my MPXT. Anyways, I currently have a 450BL on my pulse and I have recently been wanting more out of it (after 60+ flights). I just ordered a Turnigy 35-30C motor which seemed to have similar specs to the 480 motor from E-flite. Anyone here have a turnigy on thier Pulse? I am curious to know how it performs! Thanks -

In my haste to put in a couple of flight before heading to work, I flew the mpxt with a battery pack that I thought was charged. It took off with plenty of power but after 3 minutes, I noticed that it hesitated to pull with any authority. I was about 50 feet in the air I took it around for landing but the battery already took a dump. It can only give low rpms and on the final approach, it just didn't have any momentum to glide it in and took a 45 degree nosedive. Prop broke, landing gear broke, fuse broke. I'm gonna try to CA things back together.

stupid, stupid, stupid mistake on my part

Thats happened to me before.....fortunately it was with my Wing Dragon which will float forever and I was able to land without a problem. Sorry you couldnt get down safely.

I am beginner when it comes to planes. I've flow on great planes rc simulator quite a bit and I'm very good with trainers, nitro or electric. Recently my brother purchased a Super Cub (horizon's electric trainer) and we both mastered that very quickly. I'm looking for where to go next. I am very interested in this plane because it looks great, is the perfect size for what I want, it's electric, and I'm very interested in learning how to do 3d maneuvers. Now, this is where I wonder, based on this very limited description of my knowledge, would this be a logical choice for me to move next? I am considering getting the Plug and Play model, Thunder Power 3S 11.1V Lipo, and for radio I was going to use a JR Sport 6 channel ultralite radio system. I like this system because it's very affordable and I'm not 100% sure I want to sink a lot of money into rc planes because I also do a fair amount of offroad truggy & buggy racing. I like flying the Super Cub and would like to own a plane, just not ready to spend big $ on a radio. So to sum it all up, would this plane be a good choice for me and does the setup I plan to use sound like it would be favorable? Thank you.

It is a big jump from a 3 ch super cub to a low wing aileron plane. Even though the MP is pretty stable you still have to fly it ....it goes where you point it. Also it is not going to get you any 3d action...its a sport plane. I learned to fly on an aileron trainer (Wing Dragon 4) then went to a Mini Ultra Stick which is a high wing aileron plane. Then I got the MPXT. Between those 2 the MUS is a better choice IMO.....it still was a handful for me at first and I flew an aileron trainer for 6mos. The MP is a good plane but its flight charateristics are less forgiving at low speeds IMO than the MUS.

Now Im flying a PA Extra 260 which is easier to fly in many repects than the MP and MUS....I still cant do 3d well but it aint because the plane anit capable ....lol

This has been my first power plane. Mind you, i have had forty years experience of gliders - flat and slope,
including moulded 3 metre, very fast slope planes.
So, no doubt, i was better prepared than a complete learner, but it is an excellent plane and , as the man says, it goes where you point it.
I did not find it hard to land as it is a bit of a floater and a bit glider like on the landing.
I am so very pleased with it. I still have not got around to throwing it all over the place, but i have rolled it and bunted it etc.
It is a sound plane and i am grateful to this thread and all the assistance it has given me.
Thanks to all.
I really look forward to the calm days when i can get out and fly it.

Had my first crash a while back. Got everything back together and recovered in a fankenstein sort of way. Took the MP out tonight for its first post crash flight. All looked great. Flew great. Taxied great. Range check and control serface checks were all great. Long story short, after a nice easy flight, only a few loops and some knife edge and inverted flight, the elevator stopped working. All other surfaces were fine and I had plenty of power left. I did my best to put it down in some very tall grass, which was hard without an elevator. Luckily, all I did was break a prop and bend the X-mount.

I am assuming maybe the elevator servo is bad. I had the PNP electrics. I just replaced the aileron servos with Hitecks and I have an extra with karbonite gears. I guess I will try replacing the eflite servo and see if that fixes the problem. Anyone with any other ideas. I did check the servo connections as well and they were all fine.
