Rezagh,
Could you ask QQ what prop he ran on his 73" with the YS 140? I don't know how to prop it best for 3D. I would like to know the brand and size he recommends.
I have a Mejzlik 18X8 on it now but it won't work. My rpms are right where they should be but vertical pull out from a hover is very, very, very slow. . I can fine tune the mixture some more but it won't make that big of a difference. I'm hoping I'm just way off on the prop. It was what I had so I tried it.
Any one else have any ideas?

Thanks,
GB

gb i thought the Mejzlik was a 18-6?? if i haven't sold my 3W 28cc with my collection of props by this week end you can try some of them on at the Kennett fly in. i have a 18-8, 18-10 Xoar and a 18-8 biela. if one of them will work fly it this week end and order some next week.

I have the slightly older 72" version, and I remember reading that QQ used an APC 17x8 on his. I have the 1.40 sport on mine, and run Cool Power 30% Heli, with the APC 18x6 and get just under 9000 RPM as desired. I have no issues pulling out from a hover.

It is an 18X6, my bad. I was at work and in a hurry. Got my props confused.

arobatx,
Mine is turning around 8600 on the ground with the Mejzlik 18X6 but it won't pull out vertical very well at all. Hmmmm.......??

What model YS140? I have a DZ and up here at 6000' msl I am turning an APC 18x6W at 9300 rpm+! I run cool power 30% Heli.

I have never run a Mejlik, but I wouldn't expect it to drop that many rpm's.

18x6 is the recommended prop and what quique runs. surprisingly my 140l likes the cheapo zinger 18x6 better than the apc 18x6w. It seems to have a lot better pull out.

Thanks merlin,
I have an 18X8 Zinger, but didn't try flying with it, I'll pick up an 18X6 and see how it does.

Hey Guys,

This past weekend I tried a Zinger Pro Series 18x6, and I found the same result that Merlin3 did with his 1.40L. Mine is the 1.40 Sport but I gained a couple hundred RPM with this prop compared to the APC 18x6w, and it spools up quicker. I am using the CP 30% heli fuel, and it's turning 9100rpm.

More thrust with the increase of Rpms? Or just more Rpms? i need a bigger prop as the recommended range for my dz is 8000-8500.

Zope Pope,

Get yourself a Skorepa 18x6 wood for your DZ. I think you will find this prop very hard to beat.
