RE: 27% Cessna 421 Twin Turbo Prop
Ron, so pleased you are making progress and that both turbo-props are in. Really looking forward to seeing some video of this in action.

Ron,
I have followed the build since the beginning & the plane looks awesome!!! Your shop by the way is STELLAR!!!! A modelers dream!! I know this is a bit off topic but could you include some interior shots of just the shop as well as details as to who built it, types of electrical, heating & cooling systems set up. Does it get cold in the winter & hot in the summer in the shop? Size of the shop?

I know this is a bit off the topic of the thread, but I had to share this. Check out this build thread

Avionics,
Per post #80, it is a three piece wing, designed so that the plane can be transported with the center section assembled. This will minimize the assembly time at the field, requiring only to plug in the outer wing panels and connecting the servo leads....
I have been busy assembling the new Wren 160 motors at the shop, but will take some time during the next week to work on the plane some more and post pics.
Happy New year to all...
cheers,

Fuse now attached to the center section. Four hardwood dowels thru the side structure, with an aluminum insert. Carbon fiber reinforcement will be applied next.
As for the engines being synchronized, with the propeller shafts being free spinning in relation to the gas generator...this is not really an issue.

Finally sits on the gear, I only had to add one battery pack to the nose to compensate for the long tail. Nacelles are being final fitted and will be covered with a layer of carbon fiber, then Aeropoxied into place. It now looks as though it may make it to the IMAA Festival!!
Heraldo, I am using one JR 8611 on each aileron, and 4 JR 8411A servos on the flaps... incorporating a matchbox.
Cheers,

RE: 27% Cessna 421 Twin Turbo Prop
I just received from Gary Mueller of Jet Tech...the fuel cell for the twin motors. One tank with dual feeds and one large vent and one inlet for fueling and de-fueling. Made from Kevlar and designed to mount in the center section of the wing on the center of gravity!!! Beautiful work from this company.....and very fast service....The tank design was discussed on Wednesday of last week and one week later I have it!! 160 ounces plus a pair of BVM UAT hopper tanks for an additional 8 ounces..so 168 total fuel on board with a burn rate of 7 ounces per minute at full throttle ( more likely be flown at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle). So flights of 8 to 9 minutes with good reserves....

cheers!!
Oh and the question regarding dihedral...1.5 inches at each tip....

Engine nacelles now in place, next will be several coats of carbon fiber to reinforce the center section, prior to sheeting, Once the nacelles are glassed, I'll cut the access hatches in the top to allow me to service the turbines....Firewalls are set at zero-zero...and I have a gyro installed for the rudder.

Ron, this is an incredible project...I'm impressed.....you have the most scale Cessna control yokes I have ever seen...Where can I get a pair of those ?? I used the ones from Hobby Lobby for my scratchbuilt 24% Cessna 414 Chancellor. Mine actually look more like the ones for the Titan. Rick
