I havn't had any problems with the clamp type mounts slipping. What I did was wrap some heat shrink tubing around the link so the clamps would not slip. You will need clamps that are 3/16. I got my clamps from Bret at CPE, you can call him and see if he has any left. Radio shack carries them in the proper size. If I start to have problems with them slippng, I will go to a locking type collar Such as the one below.

Those clamps you posted the link for definitely don't look like they'd slip! I'm glad to hear you haven't had any problems with yours. Also, thanks for telling me the size. I don't have calipers and measuring with a tape measure on a round object isn't exactly real accurate. That's awesome to hear that radio shack sells them. What do they call them at Radio Shack? I don't want to have to go around with the clerk to have him figure out what I need. Are the radio shack clamps ready to install the shocks on, or do I have to make mounts on the clamp to get the shock to bolt to it? Thanks for all of the help Soilwork!! You're knowledge and experience with the EBR setup is saving me lots of time and headaches I'd have otherwise had to deal with! I'm glad you did it first!!

THe mounts are ready to be installed onto the links without any modification. They come in a bag of asorted sizes. There are 4 of the 3/16 size and 4 of the 1/4 size and 4 of the 5/8 size.

Another thing on my EBR setup that I forgot to mention is if you are going to set yours up as I did, then you need to reverse the links so that the ball is closest to the frame. This will prevent the ball from interfaring with the clamp style mount.

Nice clod, hmvwgunner50. I still need to build myself an all stock clod!!

i fitted lift kits to both my stock clod busters.. and my chrome will get a set as will my second bullhead.

it means you can build the shocks up without the rubber tubing to get more travel

I wasn't refering to the shock stopers in the shocks. I am refering to the clamp style mounts on a 4 link type suspension clod.

I don't know of to many people using those motors. 14 turns should get that Clod moving really good. A long term review on those motors would be great. Good luck with them and beat the snot out of it.

They sure don't tell you much about these motors? I'm sure they will run fast, but I'd like to know what makes them worth 55 bucks apiece LOL. Anyway take a vid of the truck with the 14t motors and let us know how they do haha

I took the EBR setup out for some snow bashing and I started to have problems with the mounts sliding on the links, so I went ahead on ordered the 3/16 collars. It seems to only be a problem when the links are wet and become slippery. I shoudn't have anymore problems after I install the collars. I will post a update when they are installed.

Warning! Do not put those motors on your clod unless you want to break something! Haha! First outing and I broke the steering arm. These will not work well without some serious reinforcements to some main parts. Ha. I think I will be taking them off. Oh well. I know that if I ever want some wicked crazy fast motors I will have them. The truck was out of control!!!

speed control? I haven't built my clodbuster up yet, still working on a tb-02 at the moment I have the kit ready. I plan to run the mech. as long as it will take the abuse, then i'll put a duratrax intellispeed on it.

Actually, I got to playing with my Clod on the EBR factory shock setup and it seems to work real well. I think I'm getting just as much travel out of mine as yours seems to have by the picture. I'm going to get some AE Factory Team T4 front shocks and it should work even a little better than my Integy Piggybacks. The AE shock should have another 1/8-1/4" of travel since they don't lose any to the Piggyback assembly. It jumps great, although it's too slow with the stock motors to really get any good jumps, and it drives and crawls REALLY well. Since they're locked onto the ball with the rod end I know they'll never slip. I've had mine out running in 4-6" of snow and it did AWESOME!! It was so much fun, I'd have gotten some video, but I don't have a video camera. I'll get some more pics up of it soon when I do a couple more things to it. I've got my CPE steering kit on the way!
