The intent of the manual was to set the throttle direction so that the yellow led was off at idle and on at full throttle. Then if the servos were backwards reverse them on the twinsync not on the transmitter.

The biggest problem in this really old firmware (pre-1.4.X) was oscilations at mid stick on Gas engines. It was a complete rewrite between 1.1/1.2 and 1.4.X to eliminate this. You can see it on glow but it is barely noticable and you have to watch the throttle arms to see it. You can not hear it. The other problem was with the fail safes of loss of signal was too sensitive and some versions did not work with multiplex radios. Their have been a lot of other minor improvements over the last couple of years but no real "Problems".

So you could be fine to fly with what you have (many are). But if you ask my advise I am going to tell you to get the latest and greatest... It is free (except for postage).

If I see you an IC the MSRP is $20 for a replacement IC. Email me at billw@nc.rr.com and I will give you one cheap. It is ony about $2-3 US for a first class bubble package.

Bill

Has anyone used the exiting magnets on Evolution 26GT2 engines? Has any progress been made on using the electronic ignition sensor or the LED?
Thanks
Jack

I am not sure if anyone is using the sensors with Evo 26GT2's exiting magnets.

I can tell you that both an LED based sensor and a ignition battery current sensor are going to field test next week.

i Bill,

I'm just getting around to hook up the twin sync and Glo drivers to my plane. Can wait to to start-er up, but I can not get the glo drivers to work.

I have them set up to run auto at 3500 rpm, and on the actual twin sync everything looks ok (I wiggle the prop and the 2 driver light light up full) but the lights on the actual drivers don't light up, and I took out the plug and hooked it up to the clip and it is not getting a glow. I have 1.2 volt 1500 single batteries on each. When I take the battery out and put it in an actual glow plug lighting unit, the plug lights,

So it's not the batteries or the plug?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chuck

What is the minimum amount of hook-ups I need to do to get the lights on the drivers to get the LEDs to light up?

I guess that would be the starting point?

Ok, now I switched the way I had the units plugged into the twin sync, and the lights on the drivers are on, but now the lights on the twin sync are slowly flashing. From the manual this means the glow plug is bad or not hooked up. The battery is charged and the plug is new.

What am I doing wrong now?

I have 1.2 volt 1500 single batteries on each. When I take the battery out and put it in an actual glow plug lighting unit, the plug lights,

Somebody?

Chuck,

As per our phone conversation... I am not sure where your problem is... I'll let you know what the cause was when I reeceive your package/unit.

Hi, just set my twin sync up in my Top Flite DC3.
I want to set it up so I can turn the unit on and off via the aux channel, to enable me to set the engines up, but when I plug the units aux channel lead into channel 6 of my rx, which is a on/off switch for the flaps, and set the twinsync to the correct seting, it does not do anything. The unit stays on all the time.
The tx has been enabled on channel 6, and I use it for flaps on other models. The radio is a futaba 2.4 6 channel unit.
The instructions are not absolutely clear how to plug the unit in and set it up regarding the aux lead.
Any help would be appreciated.
Darryl

You have to program the mode to mode 3 (aux channel turns unit on and off). To do this power up the unit with the rotary in position 6. Press the buttons until the red and bottom yellow are on (LED 1 and LED 4) and the middle yellow (LED3) is off. Then turn the switch back to 0 to store the settings. Then it should work.

I had previously set the unit up to mode 3 and it just stayed on regardless of the t/x switch position, with the twin sync aux cable plugged into channel 6 of my t/x.
I will have a play around again, as everything else works fine, so no reason this function will not.
thanks for the reply
Darryl

I realized wht might be your problem. The yellow led that indicates sync point still works when the unit is disabled. Both engines have to be running for you to know that it is disabled. The second led will not light if it is disbled but the first one still will. So it probably is working you just can't tell it without running the engines.
