Why do you guys think none of the other guys are working on their own systems?

Hilgert, I agree with you 100%. I neglected to state my stance on that. I never leave non-functional pages on a website. That's almost as bad as going to a site and seeing the last update was in 1995. Now that's depressing to me. Yes, they should at least clean up their site a bit.

It was disappointing to me that the AMA wanted to be contacted and Jim never responded. There were also questions as to the level of testing this product has seen which also went unanswered

Let me clarify my stance on this (based on some PM's, emails and posts). I SUPPORT the effort that Jim is making 100%. I myself have Spektrumized a couple of TX's to get better functionality than is in the stock DX6. I would like nothing more than to have a plug-in do-it-all module, and the price (to me) is not a problem (I'll pay for performance). What I AM questioning is some of the statements, and especially the physics and testing. I don't like to see claims made without testing from a manufacturer (and I means LOTS of testing, not a few dozen tests here and there). I can accept it from end-users, since they do not have the means for the most part to do thorough testing, so their test "results" are really "experiences". I think for this to be a viable system that we can have some faith in, it will need 100's and 100's of hours of flight testing. That's not too much to ask, and fairly easy to do with a few dozen systems given to some experienced RCers and DIY-type testers that do *not* have any financial ties to Jim or his company.

So, I want it to succeed, but I think the claims and hype are being made *way* too early, and that is my concern. Just needs more cooking time, perhaps 3-6 months, with lots of testing. At that point, if successful, many of us (including myself) would endorse this system.

It took JR-Spektrum years and probably a few millions to put out the Spektrum 6 - and currently at Parkflyer level only. Can a startup surpass the resources of JR/Futaba/Hitec (which are sizable multiproduct electronic conglomerates) – by a huge margin. Miracle and legend do but seldom occur in the tech world.

When I see one at field I will know it exists and when I see one fly five miles out I'll beleive it.

One more thing, 2.4mhz does not travel thru battery packs or metal. How does the signal get the from the tx to rx when the rx antenna is shielded by a motor or battery?

Show one of your systems fly with a rep of the ama and fcc present.

It could possibly eliminate RF interference from the ignition depending how well the receiver is designed. It probably won't stop the same noise from going to the servos.

Look at Berg and Castle Creations they both were small players that surpassed the "industry leaders" with better technology. Sometimes a clean sheet is better than fighting to build something that will make your current products worthless.

And now Castle Creations owns Berg. Personally, I'd like nothing more than to have Jim and crew do the same, but I think at this point there is too much hype before actual product field-testing (again, months and months of field testing).

Don't count Horizon (Spektrum) out yet, though. They have the deep pockets to be a leader as well, and they are definitely more methodical and deliberate in their approach (less hype) than Jim. Who knows that they have cooking in the kitchen?

I just checked our website, and the products listed are products that we have in production and will be releasing. WHERE did you see printers and such??

I invented cell blasting more than 10 years ago for Nicad and Nimh cells. This technology is still in use today by all of cell matching companies. We do own part of a Lipo manufacturing facility in China, and we now have cells in stock. I have been building inventory since January, and we are getting ready to throw the switch, so to speak, and start the company selling products.

I believe that every PM and email has been answered, including those by Steve at the AMA.

What HYPE are you referring to? Everything stated on our website for the product description is 100% true. It may not be worded the way you like it, but that is marketing.

With due respect Jim. Castle Creations and Berg are more down to earth. They produce good practical products and craft a niche in the market.

I don’t think Castle Creations would promise a 10KW ESC in the foreseeable future. Or Berg will design an RF Link capable of handling 390000 flyers-bidirectional data/video-5 mile range-PCM4096+ (by the way if you want to go beyond 2048 you have to market your own Tx; can you beat the 14MZ). A123 have their cells OEMed in a “big lipo factory” in Guangdong China (in fact I know which one). You go one step further by owning one and claim some high sounding technology. Jim, I have been waiting for 30+ years for someone to uncover the holy grail in RC.

Moreover I do see Laser Printers, “Professional” Scanners etc in your web site and manage to load them into “shopping cart”. You expect someone to belief that a person who can’t even manage a simple web site could be the ultimate wonder kid in RC.

Agreed - pretty simple stuff - if they can't handle that you have to wonder about the other stuff. Heck, I even posted a LINK to this in a previous post (pretty easy to click on a link, at least for me).

Jim, since you have trouble clicking the link I posted earlier, attached is a nice screen image taken earlier. Also, here is a link to it on YOUR OWN SITE: http://www.xtremepowersystems.net/products.php
