We are pleased to announce that we will be releasing a new product in the near future that will allow you to upgrade you exiting Futaba, JR, and Hitec radio systems to 2.4GHz.

Our system replaces the existing transmitter RF module and includes a brand new receiver.

This is a professional upgrade, not a park flyer upgrade. Our system offers up to 5 miles of range, no frequency conflicts, the ability to have up to 390,000 people flying at the same time, and gives you the option of having telemetry data.

Information and pictures of the prototype units are on our website.

Very interesting. Great announcement, been waiting for a while for somebody to do it. I guess all the need of multiple antenna's, size and weight restrictions, etc. have been overcome that limit the other system?

MSRP for the "flight pack" will be $179. This includes your choice of transmitter module (JR, Futaba, or Hitec) and one 8 channel receiver. MSRP for the 8 channel receiver will be $99. MSRP for the 10 channel receiver will be $119, and MSRP for the 16 channel receiver will be $149. MSRP for the telemetry system will be $129. Additional sensors will vary in price, depending on what they are. Considering a good 10 channel PCM receiver is right at $200 street price, this system is quite a bargain, besides having its numerous other advantages.

Jim, this is the most significant thing to happen to RC in 60 years! Thanks for the announcement.

I wonder what the 'official' word from AMA will say on this technology

The AMA was made aware of the system many months ago. I think the Spektrum radio system has shown that 2.4GHz itself has no real problems. We have just taken it to the next level, and supported your existing equipment.

Jim,
I fly with a TX tray and strap, the TX lays flat on the tray and that little antenna in the module would hit the tray?? i guess i could drill a hole in the tray for it to go thru. V..

The antenna sticks out about .25" more than the carrying handle.

Hi there everyone,

It seems very interesting, this new technology.

But have some question, if I may ask.
First, how do you guys stand by your product, by this I mean if it surpassed the regulated
requirements and also if there is any warranty?
Also, if you guys could or may offer a technical support if any trouble does occur with your setups.

I’m very interested in this new technology “product” and I may consider to use them in the
future, but would really like to know on how you guys will stand behind you product.

Regards,
Danny Koolman

What about this AMA rule about modifying transmitters from the 2006 manual:

"Any user modification of a Transmitter that might affect the
transmitted signal is prohibited by law and safety concerns. This
includes user replacement of frequency determining plug-in crystals
and use of plug-in frequency modules from another manufacturer.
Transmitter crystal replacement, with or without a change in frequency,
requires transmitter emission realignment by the manufacturer. Use of a
frequency determining module manufactured for use in another brand
transmitter, can result in off frequency and spurious emissions that
cause interference to other fliers."

It's manufactured for use in Futaba, Hitec, and JR. Don't use it in any other brand... yet.
