Hi Fastguy, you wont have it made in 5 mins, it takes time, dry fit all the pieces first and make sure they are all square and fitting corectly, then glue and clamp or screw. After it is all glued up you have to fiberglass all the inside joins to make it stronger. Then seal it and paint, fit the motor and running gear. I would say working on it every day it will take about 3 weeks. (don't rush it or you will end up with a piece of crap.)

ya can cheat to speed things up....

i put the frame, bottom, sides on with blobs hot glue here and there just to keep it together and lined up then hit the inside with resin

you'll get alot of a**l retentive "pro" boat builders who'll say "oh no you cant do that, you have to do it properly with stones and sticks and the the gut lining from a wilderbeast"

but it works ive built two like this and even rammed another chaps boat with it and i came out with no cracks or seems coming apart only a dent in the resin

try it!
(hot glue that is...not ramming someone elses boat)

Hi everyone, Today I got all the glass work done and the prop, rudder, flexshaft assy arrived in the mail. Now i need some bright spark to tell me how to set it up, should i space it further back off the transom so i have some flex shaft out the back of the boat? Do i set the prop square with the boat or angle it up or down a bit? I know i have to run the shaft right in the bottom of the v in the transom.
Steve

Buy an RTR

this is my next prodject

Don't stick that together with hot glue

The faster epoxies do not have the penetration of the slower epoxies, it is your choice.

Steve, set it up as it is to start with. Give yourself the ability to raise and lower the strut and adjust the angle once the boat is on the water and running. Your base line should be the strut parallel with the bottom of the boat.

time here is 12:49 night what time is it in austraila_wait steve is in austraila bently is in new zeland ?????

It's 8.50 pm here in Australia.

Sorry to Interupt Guy's but I'm watching this thread eagerly, and have decided to build one of my own. I like the one that da mad maori is building, as soon as I can track down some plans, I'll get started. The scale Helies are too expensive.

Cheers.
