easyest way is 25% of anything is 1/4 of its length so if its a 48" boat thats 12"so between 12" to 14" should be in the ball park as they say!!.

hi mate theres no rush i havent started my build yet its just nice to see how others do things that way i can decide how i do mine .i just got a strut from prestwich but im going to make my own rudder system from aluminium .mines a square drive system so i need a square flex and a ferrule to join to the stub shaft.im thinking of going with the prather 275 prop.

Now you are going to hate me Bentley, that is a Marine Specialties double HBR if I am not mistaken... it has a reputation for being a. heavy and b. the rudders being weak. This is due to them being cast. Having said that I have the strut on my Lynx without any problems
What is the strength of your servos? You will need 10kg or over for the rudder servo.

yep shes geting there slowly the

as for the sides i took the highest point on the side and made it the same hight all the way to the back

and added the same amount to transum

the strikers i just grabed a bit of wood and glued it on then shaped it with fuller just copyed off what was on my dads real boat so will see how they go i can allways grind them off

need to get parts form the model shop now so i can work out CG and mount every thing in side befor i put the rear deck and screen on the hull

hi bentley i've being working on my boat the hull is semi-ready, I haven't built the deck yet cauz I want to install everything first, later I will post some pix , everything it's scratch built: rudder, enigne mount, etc.... this proyect is so hard due to the availability of all the materials and hardware parts ....there are only 2 hobbystores in my hole country:S and both of them don't have anything for boats .....just planes, cars /..... right now I'm looking for some piece of aluminium to built the strut myself .....

hi el menor you may want to push the sides out a bit at the front just a touch to angle them outwards just a touch as yours seem to angle inwards a bit? it will help desperse any water away from the boat as she gets moving .add a cpl of small cross beams or frames to do this hope this helps otherwise she looks good.

hi martno1fan thanks for the advice but the boat will be some kind of tail heavy ,,,so when accelerate that part of the boat wouldn't be in the water so it ill have no water to desperse..... thats what i have on my mind but thank you very much anyways

you may think that now but trust me when you turn, your boat will get wet and so may the engine as the water will hit the sides and go up if its not despered away from the boat it will go over it and your engine could get swamped ,but hey do it your way !!
