it was just a thought that crossed my mind looking at the pics and lets put it this way it wont hurt and i have the same boat as this one and my sides are dead straight up and down and sometimes i wish id angled them just a tad to help water desperse away to keep the boat a little dryer sometimes.[image][/image]

You might end up with a boat that looks like this.

Yes, I wanted to show of my new hardware to.

stop showing off patrik lol,i was basing my comments on my experience with this boat as it does get a lot of spray on the engine at times and his will have more because of the shape of the sides at the bow in my opinion.this boat dips very low at the bow as you can see.by the way nice hardware pitty you cant share some pics of how you made it all .

marton1fan i was just making some tests, i 'm affraid to tell you that you theory of water despersation don't work for my boat cauz theres a detail that you couldn't see in the picture is that the side measure like 3 inches in the front so everything it's going to be ok XD lol btw. bentley what do you think about my proyect ????

I am sure you are right about your recommendations. I just saw some similarity with my freeboards and found it amusing. About the hardware, no I do not have during the process pictures but I will post some out of focus shots from other angles. My appologies to the woody thread for this interruption.

yeah looking good you might want to put some sort of rubber mount on your engine if you havent cant realy see in the photos if u did or not it will stop the motor shaking the s**t out of every thing

mate size and height is imaterial trust me the angle will encourage water to come up the sides when she leans over and thats not good but hey try it and see .its not a difficult job to push the side rails out a tad at the deck level but leave it and lets see.

Yes. The inventive part of it is to use a 50x100x3 mm or similar aluminium profile for the rudder bracket. I drilled 10 mm holes in the inner corners and then hacksawed away. The strut bracket is also cut and shaped from the same profile but for this 4 mm thickness would be better and 4 mm could be used for the rudder brackets as well. If you pick up two feet of 50x100x4 mm alu you have most of the material to make all of your hardware yourself. I made my motor mounts from this profile also. The rudder blades could be cut out in alu from the profile, blades do not need to be carbon fiber off course. Use 4 mm alu for the rudders or they might bend (depending on blade shape and engine power).

There are some places were skill and thoroughness is beneficial but anyone with basic skills could make their own hardware and have fun doing it. Those untrained will have to work harder for less result but will have learned the most.

12 mm with 8 mm hole fitted with permaglide bearings. I make my struts about 40 mm long, you may do them longer but I do not recommend going any shorter. I did go the extra mile here and coned the strut so that the flex-solder coupling side is 12 mm and the 12 mm flex coupling fixes to the prop shaft with screws. The prop hub is 10 mm so the strut prop side I made 10 mm and made the drive dog 10 mm soldered to the shaft.

Hi all, I am Bentleys BIG brother, i live in Perth WA. I got the plans off him last October and starting to build now. I have mocked up the boat out of cardboard and going to fit a new 28cc Talon wippersnipper motor into it.

engine looks familiar!! if its the same as mine(unknown name) the walb carbs might fit on it which will increase power dramatically.measure the bolt hole spaces(centres) mines 31 mm and if they are the same you will get a big improvement just by adding one of the walbro carbs a mm here or there wont matter either as you can open up the bolt holes a little .i have the 167 and it fits great.the orriginal air intake is only a little over 8 mm on the old carb, this one is arround 14mm .
ps Steve dont you just love younger brothers

haha well if he does some porting on the engine and adds a tuned pipe it will be lol dont you just love familly rivalry .by the way guys dont forget to get a resistor plug for the engine or once you get her running you will lose signal and lose your boat!!not fun at 30 mph or more.any car shop will have them ,just get one the same size with an R on it for resistor lol!!.
