I took of the muffler to check the sleeve alignment and I saw a nasty scratch on the piston.

The engine still revs to 14,000 but I am sure I am loosing compression.

Here is a close-up picture taken from the exhaust port and you can see the scratch starts from the top of the piston.

Can I send it in for repair or is this something I can do myself.

Ewwwwwwww.... that is a mess.....

I recommend you send the engine in. It needs some help.

Not sure what it ate, but it ate something.
