I've had this Moki 180 for about 4 years but have less than 3 gallons of fuel run through it. I can't get it to run well at all right now. I've replace the needlevalve assembly and can usually get it to start easily enough when I have a 24-volt starter to use. It won't transition well, nor can I get a good idle -- that is on a long term run. It will run well for a couple of minutes but just about the time I think I can taxi for takeoff the engine fails. I have adjusted the low-speed knob numerous times but have kept it within 3 notches of center -- was told it should not adjust well past that range. NOTE: I have noticed that while starting the fuel draw to the carburetor does not hold until the engine starts, i.e., after priming it recedes.

NOTE:

1.) Fuel: Morgan Omega FAI (0% Nitro, 18% 20/80 Castor/Synthetic)

2.) Xtra large fuel line with xtra large klunk and brass fuel tubing. Fuel tank is less than 3" behind the crackcase (Its mounted on a Giant Profile airplane).

3.) Is it normal? Running temperature is in excess of 300 degrees fahrenheit at the exhaust port -- has been since brand new.

4.) Compression appears to be normal.

5.) Crankcase back was tapped for pressure but subsequently plugged when I removed the Kline regulator -- no longer needed it with the fuel tank placement on the profile.

6.) Running with Sports Muffler.
