RE: Woo hoo! I got a Pico Z!
Well, before I begin, understand I am rating it based on how I expected a THIRTY dollar helicopter to perform. Obviously, it isn't as precision as a CP or T-REX.
Well now that that's done with, it flies great! Just got finished flying circuits around my living room. I could actually do spot landings, fly through windows, attack the cat . It comes with a li-po battery too, so it gets about 6-8 minustes of flight time and takes about 15 minutes to fully charge. I have probably crashed it 20 times into me, the wall, the couch, and some picture frames, and there is not even a scratch on it. It works just as good as when I bought it. It is very stable, and is very fun to fly. It takes a little practice, but as it is 2 channel, you use the left stick to go up and down (throttle) and you use the right stick to move the tail left and right. You move forwards and backwards by wiggling the tail back and forth a little. If you have a Wal Mart nearby I would highly reccommend getting one, they're a hoot!
I will have a video up in a few minutes. In the meantime, enjoy this picture.

Here is a video of me flying in the living room [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK3ePOsX7EA[/link].
Short flight, but it shows you how well it flies.

Sox,
Thanks for sharing the video,
are the controls proportional or just pretty much off and on? I tried to tell from your video, but couldn't. I have one about the size of the cp that is two channel, but it has two speeds for the throttle and full left or full right for the tail rotor, even though they claim proportional in the ads. It's called a Big Dragonfly. There are several versions online.

yes, this is definately proportional. a little right rotor turns it slowly, a lot makes it pirouette. The throttle is proportional also.

yes you can take it off from the ground. too cool got mine today and one for my son...too much fun for thirty dollars. you can control forward flight but only minimal, gotta slightly bend the tail.[sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif] this is crazy fun and when it hits a wall no damage... too smalll to hurt anything. they got a web site it is www.silverlit.com;)

hehe ya, these are great! Too windy to fly my PRO today, so i've been flying my pico z in my 5' by 16' room. I can't beleive they fly this well for $30! After i put the tin foil stickers on the tip i could get a bit of forward flight, not alot but perfect for cruisin around the house!

RE: Woo hoo! I got a Pico Z!
I just got home with mine!!! I had to drive a town over to get it. Wallmarts around here dont carry it yet. I really love how it charges right from the controller although I'm sure that will make it eat up batteries. Its so small it doesnt seem like it can hurt itself. The only real thing Im worried about is me breaking the right stick trying to control forward/backward movement. My Blade is down for the moment and this is a fun little diversion. So far (after all of 1 flight) I can say its worth 30 bucks. But like all silverlit things ( I got an XUFO as my first foray into RC) it gives you enough of a taste to want more more MORE MORE MORE MORE!!!!! The XUFO is why I own a Blade CP Pro. This is making me want a Micron V2 to creep around my crusty crib with. But $90 or so for a barebones is still a bit steep with needing a gyro and servos (how many do you need for a Micron) and stuff after that. Ok, now that Im completely off topic. Im gonna go fly this tiny thing on my desk.

ORIGINAL: rawvoodoo
I got mine from Radio Shack.I dont think that wal marts in the US are stocking them yet. 2 of my friends went out today and bought one each. These things are awesome. Almost made me forget the BCPP sitting in pieces on my bar. Im just waiting on a 2.3 mm pinion and my stingray antenna. I just got my new brushless and thought my LHS would have the pinion.....I thought wrong.

RE: Woo hoo! I got a Pico Z!
not overly loud. I can just hear one flying dowstairs when I am upstairs. If I had bought one of these first.....I may have never bought my BCPP. Im not saying thatthey are as good as or anything but it satisfied the need I had to fly something around my house. Best 30 bucks Ive ever spent.
