I thought I would start a Carden 32% Yak 54 construction thread. I'll start with some fuse frame construction photos.

Enjoy,

Steve Kessler

I used 1/4" depron foam for the canister floor plate. I ended up splicing in balsa for the area at the rear end of the MTW TD75K canisters. This way if the canister rubs, it will only touch the balsa. Also here are some pictures of the throttle servo mount. I still need to cut the air exit hole in the 1/4" balsa sheeting behind the landing gear mount plywood.

Just curious, are the anti rotation tabs on your stabs part of the kit or are they your modification? Nice build!

Hey Steve,

This is Wayne (Former Jetero member)
Your build looks good.

We did the stabs the same way on my new Carden 260 and its working out really well.

Steve:

Now that I see the effort you have put into the lightening, I think you will beat your target weight.

Nice work!

I too am doing this stab modification. In fact I have changed all of my giant scale builds to this style of attachment. In the pic below you will see from left to right stabs from a 40% Carden 330, 35% Hurley Extra, and a Great Planes Extra 330L. I dont want to watch another plane go in because of stabs departing the aircraft, trust me it is not fun to watch.
