I was able to get a hold of some coroplast signs today to make some PBF'S out of. Along with the normal large rectangular signs i got some of these large Pepsi bottle signs. Now i am wondering if it will fly. It is approximately 51 inches tall and 17 inches wide. Any suggestions?

Dale,
If a Pizza lid will fly(If thats what they call it) the Pepsi would fly.
Balance it as is then add motor, servos , receiver and point into the wind, give it throttle and have fun.

Don Incoll built a flying WOG, which looked very similar to Homer Simpson. It was shaped very similar to the pepsi bottle, so i think it can be made to fly.

Unfortunately, his homepage is down, so i can't find a link to it.

I think i will try using the 2 1/2" sq pvc for the fuse. I will swiss cheese it to lighten it up. I am going to basically build it like a pbf only a lot longer. Any ideas on where to put the airfoil spacer and where to set the CG? Do I want to try and power it with a 25 or a 40 size engine? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

I fly a 2'x4' foam board with a 18" tall Uncle Sam on it, it flies with a 60-70 size four stroke, or a 46-51 size two stroke. The four stroke engine will give you more nose weight, as you need to balance at 25% of the length, that would be about 13" from the front for you. I think you will have problems with handling though, as a friend tried a 18" wide one and it was a real handfull to fly.

I have seen a fellow on e-bay advertise a PBF called a Magic Carpet, 24" by 48", so your pepsi Bottle should fly. You'll have to experiment with the balance point. Uncrichie...
