The ice is made with r/c cars in mind.... NiCd and NiMH batteries....yes it is made with them on the list first.....but it also does the lithiums at up to 8 amps and total of 4 cells in series max......if it did up to 6 cells for the t-rex 600 guys it would be an amazing charger.

No, it won't.

I use it for a T-rex 600 but that's becuase I fly mine with two 3 cell packs connected in series rather than a single 6 cell pack.

If you we're to use something like the align 6 cell battery, you would need a proper charger for it.

So neither the ICE nor the Triton will do a 6 cell Li-Po battery??

Yeah 4 cells is the max they both do.....as long as ur not doing the t-rex 600 the ice is fine....if you are going to get one.....go with the Thunder Power 1010C Charger....i can do my T-Rex 450 batts in 20 mins max.....and it will do the 6S packs when i get my t-rex 600...when ever distribution gets on the ball

Thanks for all the info.!!

I have a couple more questions....

1/. Is there a better charger than the ICE or Triton, for Heli use?? ie. possibly suitable for a TRex 600?? I like both these 2 units, and would look for something with a similar type display. I may just buy one of these, but would like to know if I can get something suitable for a TREX 600, and similar to these, for a few $$s more!

2/. Can I use these chargers to charge my standard AA Ni-Mh batteries?? Can I put them in some sort of battery caddy, and charge them this way?? Where could I buy such a caddy?

Thanks

The new triton can charge up to 10 lipo but it's not for sale now.

I really like the Astro 109, can charge up to 9 cell and 8 amp and have a good price.

If you want a better just "LiPo" charger then get the thunderpower 1010C and their balancer.....its my best setup......but u need a 250-300 budget for those two items combined.....not cheap unfortunatly but awsome setup.

The TP charger used for lipo only.
The ICE, Triton can charge nimh, nicd & lead acid.
I had the Equinox balancer, works great like any other.
I'm also in the T-rex 600 battery dilemma, I plan to use two 3S pack in series and I need another charger because the one I already have can charge up to 5S.
I really like the astro, so If I will get the it I will be able to charge the two 3s pack in both chargers with my balancers or at the field I can charge both packs in series with the astro, so the other charger will be free for other batteries.

That's a great charger, but the maximum charge current is only 1.1A.
