Hi all, I have a few framed up planes that I need to complete. I'm thinking of converting the LT-40 to a twin and wonder if anyone has done this. I think this would be a good way to get into twins and float planes at the same time. Would two Saito 56's pull this well with floats or would the 72's be better? Where do I find info on nacelle construction and attachment to wings? Just gathering info before I start gathering parts.
I will be covering a Kobra soon. I've got a framed up Midmest Zero 40 and framed up GP Extra 60. I made a vow to finish these before I start anything new. I want to finish the LT-40 and Extra before next spring.

Thanks all, MikeB

Our club president did a twin of an LT-25 last year, so an LT-40 would be pretty similar. I'd think that if a single .56 is plenty two of them should be awesome!! There is no sound better that 2 four storkes running together.......

There will be an article with plans for the conversion of an ARF trainer to a twin in an upcoming issue of Model Aviation. I've seen the airplane fly and it is a real pu**ycat. I understand that the first prototype is on floats now also.

Thanks for the info. I already have one Saito 45, maybe another would do the trick.
Thanks again, MikeB

Here are some simple underwing tub nacelles that I use on a Seniorita twin and a Quad Kaydet.

The tubs on the Seniorita are quick removeable with two 1/4 20 nylon bolts.
