Wondering if such a thing exists . . .

To make flap setup easier, I'd like to oppose the servos, requiring reversing on one servo only. I'll be using all 6 channels on my radio, and cannot mix a spare to reverse.

Can anyone point me to a reversing Y-harness? Or, is it as simple as swapping the wires on the servo lead to produce reverse rotation? What kind of problems can this cause?

Appreciate any help.

If your servo is of the type that DOES NOT have the motor soldered directly to the amp board, it is a simple mod to reverse it. Open it up and swap the two outer wires on the pot. Leave the center wire where it is. Swap the two wires on the motor. Label the servo as reversed. That is all there is to it.

It is much better IMO to reverse a servo rather than to introduce another piece of electronic hardware (reversing "Y" harness) that can potentially fail

Try Electrodynamic, they sale a reversing Y harness for 32.95. I have their harness in use in my extra and have had no problems. You can reach them by phone (734-422-5420) or on the net [URL=http://www.electrodynam.com], hope this helps

Why not just flip flop the servo. I have always went this route. Simple, inexpensive and trouble free with know additional failure points.

I have tried reversing wyes in the past and was not real satisfied. Centering and endpoint adjustments maybe of issue. Not to mention some RC equipment just acts funny with these things. If you must go this route make sure specify the type of RX and TX your contemplating using.

I know of one plane that crashed due to reversing "Y" harness failure and heard of another plane that crashed for the same reason. Myself I won't use them. Keep it simple!

Thanks for the input. . .

I'm unable to simple turn the servo over, which is also my prefered method. Will try to locate a reversing Y.

Turning the servo over sometimes screws up the geometry of the linkage compared to the other servo.

Are you in a real big hurry? Most manufacturers will reverse most servos at the factory, or already have them in stock, so it takes less than a week. A factory-reversed servo should be just as reliable as the original, so you won't have to: a) be ballsy enough to mess with internal servo guts, or b) trust a y-harness.

I know what you mean about the application. Doing warbirds, I've come across several situations where the geometry just couldn't be fixed by flipping servos or links, so I've grown accustomed to ordering them...probably have 4 or 5 in my "stable."

And, if you need to cannibalize those servos for a standard application, you can usually find an application where you can flip them, so it's not terribly "application-specific" (waste of money).
