Have any of you guys experimented with using ether instead of nitro in glow fuel? Do you know of someone who has? Any ideas on pros and cons. I know that ether while igniting easy may not carry the power ond oxidation properties of nitrmethane. I'm experimenting with making fuel from locally readily available products.

Ether used to be recommended by Super Tigre as an aid in cold weather starting, they also recommended a little petrol as an alternative. Ether is actually a dreadful fuel and it's only used in diesels to get the kero burning.

They are on the opposite ends of the fuel scale. Nitro is on the end of the powerful slow burning end, and ether is on the low power fast burning end. I suppose there are two other ends now that I think about it.
