holly
that looks like a drain hole
Throw a patch over that and put the turn fin on the boat it will need it.
In fact run them both for that matter you will not be sorry to have them both on there.
I have decided to get one of these boats.
I can not resist the Lipo temptation about this boat
I will hopefully have one before the summer is out.

Its an electric supervee. I have some pc11 epoxy laying around, would your recommend something else or do you think that would be good? Also After its sanded and prepped, what should i use for paint? I really wasn't planning on getting too in depth with it, so i may not even pain it, i may just try and tape it to keep the epoxy flush on the outside and the turn fin bracket will hopefully cover most of it up. But yeah i can't imagine why they would of done this either.

djmike - for me, it helps in straight line stability. others beg to differ. Does it slow down the SV, maybe a litlle, I haven't noticed it. Does it help in the turns, I think so.

jake - get the SV. Parts? Get a metal prop, but the CF45 is good enough and cheap! And get the trim tab adjusters, if ou're a handyman, you can make it yourself.

holly - if that epoxy you have dries stiff, then that's good enough. Yes, you don't even have to paint it. Just put the fin back on and you're okay. I would prefer acrylic paints but you can probably use any paint you want. It's just a spot job and shouldn't matter.

Thanks carakter, yeah i'm just gonna plug it back up with eboxy and drill it back out. Any set up tips for the turn fin? are they somewhat straight forward?

monsterbrad, yeah i was wondering if it was damaged also, but everything appears to be in decent shape, and i'm just supprised that if it was damaged, they would have removed and actually drilled and put a plug in it rather then just repaired it.

holly - No problem! Setup? - read post no.1 from Grimracer. That's a very good starting point.

Carakter, I can't seem to find the adjustable trim tabs on Tower's site, do you know where I might find some?

I threw my satnav/gps in(huge and heavy), and with the Nosram lipo´s, stock prop, i got 56.3km/h (35mp/h) .Without the gps it must be even faster.

The 45K and x642 props shoult be here soon and maybe i will break the 40mph soon ...

edit. a bit of adjusting the battery position and taps... 59.1 km/h now, stock. (36.72mp/h)

got my new/used SV in the water today. the boat came with a few different props and maybe the props are the issue, but i seem to get a lot of cavitation, and it won't pull hard till it gets up to plane, which can take a little longer then i thought. I'm running a metal two blade prop, and i'm sorry but i'm not sure what the pitch is or anything. I'm also having some steering issues, if i'm going slower and the boat isn't up on a plane, for the most part it will not turn left, and at most is very limited. If i let off as the boat begins to come to rest, it will slowly start to turn. The right turns are much better and seem fairly respectable. I played with the radio a little bit adjusting the endpoints but really i've had no luck with these left turns. Any suggestions?
