One thin cote of Pacer Z-Poxy Finishing Resin on all wood parts (#PT-40)
Is this to protect the wood from water damage or strengthen it?

Just got my SV27 from the UPS guy. Looks great. Looks it it made the trip on the slow boat from China with NO damage....yippiee. Dont have to send anything back to Tower.

The finish looks nice and the size of the motor is bigger then i thought it would be. Over all at this point "very trick". I will do the mods to it this weekend, make some battery packs and get it out on the water the following week. I think were gonna like these!

Is there anything else we can use, like maybe something we have on hand, like poly eurathane. That epoxy is expensive. Yeh I know its worth it but I was wondering if there is anything else that would work. And if this is so necessary then why didn't they do it at the factory?

Grimracer said " like to do mine in a cricle. I have also heard of guys uding 40 grit sand paper to do this.. (not me)

Red scotch brite = about a 320 grit..

Grim "

I hope you meant 400 grit paper. 40 is going to ruin some ones boat bottom

DO NOT USE 40 GRIT.. but that is what i said.. the mod 21 tunnel record was set with "SAID 40 GRIT MOD BOTTOMS" coming from the guy that said this i suspect its true.

DO NOT USE 40 GRIT
DO NOT USE 40 GRIT
DO NOT USE 40 GRIT
DO NOT USE 40 GRIT
DO NOT USE 40 GRIT
DO NOT USE 40 GRIT
DO NOT USE 40 GRIT

400 is best but you can go as heavy as 220.

should any of the air vents be opened up for better cooling; or leave as is?

Received our shipment of boats today and took mine and a couple others out to the water with a coworker and a friend. Very fun and very fast. My coworker had his upside down within a couple of minutes (trim tabs were not adjusted), but once retreived there was no water in the radio box and it worked like a champ. My buddy was running Orion Li Po packs and a Octura 440/3 prop. The boat was a lot faster than mine and stable with the trim tabs pulled down a bit. I was running mine with SMC4200 stick packs and the stock prop. When I pulled my boat out I would guess there to be about a half a cup of water in the hull, but sealing the hatch a little better should take care of that. We should have some radar readings by Sunday. Can't wait until tomorrow to play some more.

Ran into a problem. I am trying to change radios, but the ESC will not program. I can get it to beep at full throttle, but it will not beep five times when trigger is at neutral. I have changed the motor leads around, placed all settings on the radio to their default positions, and have played with the reversing. I am using a JR XS3 and have tried 2 different receivers that work with no problems in other vehicles. The stock radio and receiver work fine, so I know nothing is defective. Please help.

Hmm... could this be bad news for those of us who want to use our own radios?

do not open the vents.. as a matter of fact if you like, the boat has been designed to allow you to tape the hatch. just move the antenna to the transom and tape over the antenna hole.. tape the cowl..

We have ran a bunch of different radios with this ESC.. I use the 3pk and it works fine.. but to tell you the truth its over kill.. the stock radio works great too.

Make sure your trims are neutral.. plug the boat in. go from hight to low trim to see if the esc fires up. If not use your servo reverse and try again.
