ORIGINAL: Tony Hallo I managed to spray the wings today with the first coat of Polybrush. Dust on a tack coat followed by a wet coat without making any runs, I found this somewhat impossible, one thing I did discover is the first coat is much like fine wine, it does get better as it ages. As the Polybrush dries, it's looks bettter and better. I was somewhat disapointed while it was wet. Next I will add the stitching and tapes. Hi, I'm using the same stuff on my 30% Stearman (Polybrush) If you did not know it yet it is much easier to lay down the pinked tape by just running your finger along the tape wet with polybrush as you lay it out. Then if you have any pinked ears sticking up wait till the poly brush is dry and run your sealing iron ouver the tape at 250 degrees NO HIGHER and that will seal down any loose ears. I then use white glue to simulate the "stiches" I just mark out the distance (3/8 inch @ 30%) and dip the "T" head of a "T" pin into a small amount of glue and touch it to the desired mark. Takes forever but when glue dries it makes the stitch bump look very scale. You don't want a lot of glue.just a hint of a stitch is all it takes. I have 4 wing panels to do and it takes about 3.5 hours to get both sides done on the 4 panels. Then the color coat will cover the glue and your stitching job is done. Don't try to brush the polybrush on the tape as you go.the brushing will cause the tape to move on you . Hope this helps you
