I have got a new engine for my rs4 3 evo, and now it is working fine. I don't think there is a problem with the rs4 3 evo, en-fact i am planing to get another one just like it so i can race with friends. Is HI-TECH go for the rs4 3 evo? Is it better then the one that comes with the rs4 3 evo?

first let me say when you have a problem start a new thread. more people will look at it and more can help you.
people see this thread called "HPI RS4 Evo IS this car a good choice" and have no idea your having engine trouble. If you started a new thread called "T-15 over heating please help", then everyone on the site with a T-15 will see it and try to help.

Now for your problem.

You need to have holes cut into the body so air can move over the cooling head.
Try a hotter glow plug. A hotter plug will make the fuel light latter in the stroke, so the unburned fuel has time to cool the block
Get this cooling head it's much better than stock http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNE41&P=7

why would you want to do that?

no you cant do it in 3 wheel drive because of the diff, yes you can in 2 wheel drive, i have done this when my set screw came loose, 2wd is bad because

1. acceleration sucks
2. it over revs your engine
3. it puts all the power into 1 diff and 2 dogbones
4. only 2 wheels for breaking

If i had to use two wheel drive, where would i put the two dogbones, in the front of the car or at the back?

there is no point in using 2wd, it will over rev your engine, no accelerate good, and the handling wont be good either, but if you are so stuck on trying it, just take out the front 2 or rear 2 dogbones and then try to drive

Is the over reving of the engine good or bad for it, and will do any damage to the other parts on the car?

too much of anything is bad, over revving your engine can eventually just kill it, extra stress is not good on anything, all the power to one diff is bad, your acceleration will suck, braking will be nearly impossible, and thats aobut it, i have already listed the problems associated with it, and to say it nicely, if you use common sense, you cna figure things out yourself

I have an rs4 evo 3 rtr. First car i've had. I think it's great, don't have alot to compare it too. It is plenty fast for a beginner, easy to control, etc.

But....If i knew what i know now, i would have bought the RS4 .18 SS. Outside of using my car, a friend and i have been rebuilding some off road trucks. Neither of us have really messed with this stuff before, we are both fairly mechanical though. We've had little trouble with no directions, documentation, etc. I feel i'd have absolute no trouble building a RS4 .18 SS. It would have been the same price as my RTR with everything but i bought mine locally. I was apprehinsive in building my first car but in retrospect, i have to say i do regret it. I'd go with that one instead.

Hello, I've been researching to add a 1/10 scale on road nitro to my collection and HPI and Kyosho have been high on my list. The RTR Evo was a definite until I came across this forum and started reading. Now I'm entertaining the 18ss kit but my only problem is the kit is a pull start. Good news for me the 18ss is roto start compatible. I'll do the research and see who sells the backplate/rotostart and hopefully purchase everything at once. I think based on what I've read on the forum threads, the 18ss is a better buy because eventually you will want to upgrade from the rtr to what already comes standard on the 18ss. Thanks for helping me make my decision without having to ask for help:-).
