I have been wanting to make a crawler for awhile now. I have read how-to's from the net and most of them say to leave the foam out of the tires so the tires flex more. From these pics it doesn't look like this has been done. Is it true that there should be little to no foam in the tires when creating a crawler so it gets better grip on the rocks.

i haven't had a chance to take any pics of my 1/6 nylint, but here is my new 1/1 scale jeep!! 85 cj7 renegade!!! the guy that had it b4 me took off the stripe kit and put some goofy wheels on it. . . but don't doubt b/c its 21 yrs old it can't outperform all these new jeeps!!! and its still stock, flexin like that!!! i'll get some pictures of my 1/6 tomorrow and post them.

Woah, I didn't realize that RC Driver has been paying this much attention to Rock Crawlers! I just re-subscribed after having let my subscirption lapse a year ago. Here's my TLT crawler after 8 months of refinement...

I've been writing about RC crawlers in RC Driver for...over two years now on a regular basis.

As soon as I got Greg to go for it I started putting them in.

Great thing is that I don't write about it 'cause they tell me to, I write about it 'cause it's WHAT I do...if that makes sense.

If you like crawling, wait until you see the January issue!

here's my 1/6 and 1/18 scale jeeps after customizing them. i just repainted the roll cage and side steps on the 1/18 jeep and just painted the wheels black too!
