I've been checking out all the 50 sized ARF's hoping to get one together by the middle of October. But the Hybrid has 400 square inches more of wing area over them for the same weight. Somebody slap me, I almost went to a fatty!!!!!! We have a local builder that was in WWII and he does great, fast work. I just don't have the time myself right now to build. I know that he has shipped some planes he has built in case anyone is looking for a builder.

I posted a reply to your PM. The OMP 80" Edge has been done several times with the BME 50 as the BME is beam mounted like the glows. I only say that as the builder you are responsible for building the plane strong with ample glue joints when using the gas engine. CA is brittle so always use Epoxy in high vibration areas such as engine mounts and any rigid areas like landing gear and wing mounting areas. The other option obviously is the Hybrid. Good combo with the DA 50 but I don't know about the BME 50.

I built this 79" OMP Yak 2 years ago. Had a moki 2.10 on it to start with. It was the second airplane for the Moki and this summer I couldn't keep it running anymore. So I put a BME 50 on it. Wow 50cc on a 12 pound plane. Its a 3D animal. Wish I would have put the BME on it to start out but I already had the Moki. OMP no longer makes the Yak but they still have the 80" Edge.

Here's my latest toy: Talon with a DA50, Mejzlik CF spinner, Vess prop, all digitals. It's 15.5 lbs. with the stock aluminum wing tube and a sturdy aluminum gear. Enterprising individuals could go nuts lightening it up to well under 15. However, I'd rather show the airplane in stock form so that there's no BS about weight and performance.

It's likely that 90% of all Talons sold are flying with DA50's. The rest have Brison 3.2's, Evolution 35's, 45's and an occasional ZDZ 40-50 or Moki 2.10. I've had a couple of questions about using BME 50's but I haven't seen them yet. So far everybody seems pleased with the 50cc gassers on their birds.
