Hey Guys,

I have been running straight pipe on my DZ for a while, but unfortunately some guys have deemed me unflyable now because of it (why they didn't tell me a year ago, I don't know). Anyhow. I am looking for a muffler (not a tuned pipe), that would muffle me down quite a bit. Preferably to lower than 96db, and if there is a performance gain thats a bonus. Also, I would like to avoid any performance loss. Thanks in advance.

Also, is it just me or does the stock muffler make no difference at all?

Adam

Have you consdered a quiet pipe or a muffled pipe and run your existing header?

Four strokes run a much smaller pipe than the same size two stroke?

Also you can run a larger prop to keep the rpm down?

Sometimes the prop is making as much noise as the engine?

I am happy to run mufflers and not against doing so at all, I just wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for something that is very quiet, but didn't rob me of too much performance. I have also heard that the YS engines run better with restrictive mufflers.

Right now I am looking at the performance specailty line because I have heard some good things about them. If anyone could share experiences with a performance specialty muffler I.E. noise level, etc, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I am just running the Stock YS header , so I have no problems in scrapping that a going with a new header. Thanks!
