    Thanks ggroya1.

Got the control surfaces hinged today and now I need to get some servo arms before I put the servos in.

This is the servos I'm using:

    5645 for the Ailerons
    5625 for the Elevator
    5985 for the Rudder pull/pull

Now what is a good length for the ail/elv servo arms 1" or 1.25" and how long on the rudder servo arm for pull/pull? I think I got a 3" somewhere that should work for the rudder

    Thanks for your help

I live on the only section of Steve Reynolds that has houses(the other end from the company you work for) When I moved here 20 years ago it was a dead end road, no trafffic, then the bulldoziers came thru the woods and now I live on a very busy road. I am using all JR stuff, (8411 and 8611a servos), JR790 rec and 7202 xmt, and a JR matchbox for the elevators, also I am using the evolution 45gx2 engine. This was my first gas plane and now I am hooked. I am working on a PAU/BME Edge540 with a DA50 engine for my second gas. I made a diamond template and cut out the diamonds from the Ultracote matching colors. It looks like the Wonder bread bag.

Can some one post their mixes for dealing with some of the cross coupling on this plane, example rudder to aileron? It would save me some time getting the plane setup which I'm not too experienced at. I only have a couple of flights so far, which has been limited by engine problems and winds.

Ok I'm going to be ordering an inverted wraparound muffler without smoke.

    My choices are:
    Bisson
    Slimline
    J&A Engineering

Any have a preference on any of these.

JTEC also makes a nice pitts muffler. give em a call-704-799-1658
The standard DA50 muffler will not go under the cowl without cutting the side of the cowl up, gotta use a pitts.

    take care.

I have the Slimline, don't use the gasket, I use the red rtv hi-temp sealer from Permatex. Make sure you install the bracket that comes with the muffler.

Thanks for the info on muffler. I got a new J&A Engineering muffler from a club member who purchased it for a GP Aeromaster and it wouldn't fit the plane. But it fits easily on this CAP 232 and the quality is outstanding.

Now I need to get a spinner, I was trying to find one locally but the Hobby shops have nothing, so on-line I go.

    Going to go with a 3.25" lite-back from Tru-Turn.

(Edit) Forgot to ask is Chief Aircraft a good place to order from or should I just order direct? Thanks, in advance.

Using a DX7 my cap required a 15% mix rudder/elevator with both right and left rudder to offset most of the coupling to the belly when in knife edge. High alpha knife edge or knife edge loops need even more than that but i just fly thru those and feed in whatever is needed because if you try to mix all the coupling out it will mess you up for doing rolling circles and rudder turns. I found so little roll coupling that I saw no need to set up a rudder/ailerone mix. I did set up a throttle/rudder mix for the uplines as the the plane pulled to the left at full throttle. The mix is set at 10% and feeds in right rudder as I increase throttle past 1/2 stick. That is using a DA50/Vess 23A If you stick to 22" props you might use less mix.

    take care

Well I decided to go with the Saito 220... WOW... This thing has some power. It will hover at 1/2 throttle with plenty of climb out.. I have some more tinkering to do with it and It will be the show stopper... Flys great like it's on rails and snaps--- like a CAP!!

LATER and thanks for all the pointers..

PS.. AUW was just 15 lbs.. well 15.1

    Hey Mr Powerlines,
I have been flying the H9 Cap232g for nine months. The only problem is the landing gear. I have a CF from Graftech to replace the stock one that sometimes bends a little on windy days. This was my first gas plane and it got me hooked on gas. I now have two more 30% planes. A BME/PAU Edge540 and a Aeroworks Extra260. The cap has the Evolution 45gx2 that has been flawless(not using the auto choke). I am using the aux2 for the choke. The 45gx2 does not like regular unleaded gas. I found out when I put the reg. in by mistake. I did reinforce the firewall and the the landing gear block. Eveything has been holding up great. I really like the ultracote covering, it stays on better than monokote. I also change the tail wheel to a Troy build model for $25.00, simple but it works great. You can't beat the price and the hardware is very good(pull-pull on the rudder with JR8611a servo), Jr8411's on the ailerons and elevators + JR matchbox, 7.4v lipos and 6v regulator for the receiver.
I used a Red Gem 2000 voltage monitor for the rec. bat and a blue for the ign. You can see them flashing from a long way off.

Hey all, if anyone's still on this thread I'd appreciate some input. I just tanked my Alitalia Cap last wk'end <sniff> due to a servo mal-freaking-function, and have been toying with getting one of these diamond cover'd H9 27%'er, as opposed to finding another Alitalia. I kind of like the idea of plug in wings instead of toting around a 1 piece 80" monstrosity. What's the word on this 27% version? Likes? Dislikes? Bad habits/a piece of cake? Any opinion appreciated. Oh, 1 more thing. would a Moki 2.10 be possible on this? Flew the Alitalia version like a dream, plus I'm not real wild about plunking down for the much loved DA 50 when I have a perfectly good Moki.
