Nice! You're using a 20x8? Try a 22x8, you will still get slower approaches and you'll have 2" more diameter to help w/ the vertical. If your Moki is the same as mine, I prefer a 22x8 over a 20x10. You might like it.

I just saw one of these at the LHS. They look very nice.
Its got me thinking. I,ve got a MVVS/Evolution 45, pitts muffler & 3-1/4" spinner that I,m looking to sell. Maybe I,ll just get one of these and use what I,ve got instead of selling everything.
They appear to have a decent amount of wing area to support a 15lb plane and still keep the wing loading light.
Can anyone tell me that has flown one with the Evolution engine did it perform well?

    thx Dave

    Hey Dave,
I have been flying the Cap 232g for almost 10 months. It flys great, and a very study plane. I did change the tail wheel to a TBM ($26) from Troybuild models. The stock aluminum landing gear is weak and I will be replacing it with a Gaftech($50). Hangar 9 models are very good quality with only a couple of weak parts.

    Thanks guys,

I,ve got 2 interested RCU members in the motor, so if they fall through I,m going to get one of these planes and put the 45 in it.
I couldn,t believe I,ve even got the right size spinner for it already.
I also found the review on the other site it all looks good.
One question though, when mounting the rudder servo it would appear best to go with a pull-pull system to help avoid nose weight being added. Is that a correct assumption?

    thx Dave

    Soon I will have mine.
I have read thru most of the posts. Anybody care to run down there electronics set ups.
I belive I will go the Lipo route and I also think I read the the EVO ignition can handle the 7.4 volts without a regulator?

Where is the best place to get a GEM 2000?

Thanks for the help. I am looking forward to making the step to gas.
I also really want to set it up for smoke from the get go. Any suggestions there would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Kirt

They have all the colors and voltages. They work great, I use red for the rec bat and green for the ign (7.4 lipo). They are also nice people. I highly recommend.

I am using a blue led for the ign and the camera caught the led when it flashed, I don't have a pic of the red led when it flashes.

    tailskid,

You said the plane flies better nose heavy. Can you tell us where your cg is or how much the plane drops inverted?

I've had this Cap for about a year and a half and am just getting ready to put it together. I have a CRRC-pro GF 45i and will swing a 22-8 prop.

I haven't flown anything in the past year and a half because of a motorcycle accident. Before the accident, I was just starting to ring out a Showtime 4D pretty good. I was also flying an Harrier and I was really wanting to get into gas and electric only.

From what everyone on here said the Cap 232G should be a very good first gasser.

I have a friend that says I should maybe start flying some of my smaller glow stuff, like the Harrier because the Cap 232G will be to fast on landings until I get use to flying again.

I was thinking from what I read on here that the Cap will land about as slow the harrier and if thats the case it should not be much of a problem. What does anyone that has flown the Cap think?

When you say, "This Cap lands slow." What are you comparing the Cap landing to?

The Cap lands slow, a fast walking pace, don't worry about it. I have a Wildhare Edge and an OMP 65" Yak and they both land fairly slow. I had a GP Christen Eagle, now that landed fast.

    Thanks Chuck,

I hope to be flying the Cap in the next couple weeks. I also have a GP Super Stearman, 120 I'll be putting a 25cc gas motor in. I'm told that flies very gentle also.

Today I'll be cleaning out my shed where all my RC stuff has been stored for the past year and a half. This should be fun. I'm thinking of selling all my glow stuff as i'm going electric and gas only. (Electric on everything under .60 and gas on everything over .60.)

I just swaped my plane and got the Cap232G. I read somewhere that the trick for not snapping it is to control the elevator. What throws are you using? normal and Dual rate?
