Here is an upadate on my cap. So far the engine is on the airframe the choke cable is installed and the ignition is on the airframe. Will try to start hinging soon (I hate this part). Also included is a pic of my old Cap (dumb thumbed into the ground) I only had it for three months and absolutly loved it. I wish they still had replacement wings for it!

    FlyguyXII,

FWIW my motor box broke loose where it passes through F2 (this is on the original version). It also broke loose where the down angled piece (of the motorbox) meets the piece the landing gear mounts to. Even though it was interlocking it did not have any re-inforcement. I tried looking at yours pics to see if it is the same. Some of it is but the motorbox (sides) look different.

    So is mine.

I'm talking about the former right behind the firewall.

The GP will be about 3 pounds lighter than this one. The extra couple inches of wingspan and 100 squares on this plane at the expense of an extra 3 pounds isn't worth it, IMO. The only thing it has going for it is that it was designed by Peter Goldsmith and Mike McConnville. I haven't a clue what Joe Blow designed the GP unit.

When you look at the specs of the H9 vs the GP,. the GP certainly looks like it'll be a better flying plane, assuming it actually comes close to the advertised weight. The one piece wig is a hassle to transport, but it makes assembly quick. The biggest thing against the GP is that stupid stab position. They moved it so low it doesn't look like a Cap anymore. That said, whenever I destroy my Alitalia Cap, I'll probably replace it with the GP, due to the weight difference, and I like the color scheme better. Also, I have one of the GP Performance series Ultimates, and the build quality on it is excellent, everything fell together, nothing needed work, it was just a perfect kit, and I imagine the GP Cap (also in the Performance Series) would be the same way.
