The front page of the instruction manual says 15 - 16 pounds.

So that's 3 different advertised weight ranges!! At least it seems that they are coming in at the lower range of the three...I see 14 pounds doable from a weight freak like me!

    Jon595,

Your right about the ign. wire. Actually the spiral wrap for the wire is just off camera to the right on a work bench. Thanks for the reminder though, I had about forgotten to put it on. Should maiden this bird this weekend weather permitting.

    There is this line:

    quote:

In the case of the 27% Cap 232G the wing span is 80” and the weight will come in at 13.5 to 15.5 pounds depending of course on the equipment that is installed by the RC modeler.

Yeah, that was one of the 3 weight claims I saw. anything under 15 pounds would be ideal.

Well today I stalled it out of an attempted harrier landing and broke the fuse at the trailing edge and actually bent the wing tube. I'm gonna fix her but I'm really disgusted in myself right now

Sorry to hear that...looks like a fairly easy fix, though. Hey, that's how you learn!!!

Man, this thread has been dead for a while . I still have not had a chance to fly my repaired cap yet but I did find out that the stock wing tube is not filled with solid wood.It has light ply caps with a "t" stringer that runs from end to end thru a few discs. I cut my old one open and looked inside.

I will be re-weighing it as our digital scale at work started reading all over the place and was replaced so I have a feeling my earlier weight claim is bogus . I realize there is added wood now for the repair and it will have gained weight but its still a ballpark figure

Did you get a carbon fiber tube from troybuilt and did it fit perfect? I have not flown mine yet, but it is about 99%. I had to change the direct rudder to pull-pull for the CG. Tru-turn got the right template for the spinner backplate(evo45gx2), now that fits. I also got the battery setup done. A 4000mah TP receiver lipo with a duralite 6v req. and a 3200mah 7.4v lipo for the ignition. I used the rcats switch for remote ign.

    thanks

I actually got another hollow 1" wing tube free from another flier at the field that fit perfectly and is thicker walled aluminum. I've just got my fingers crossed it flies ok.I had to do some pretty extensive repairs as the fuse was crushed/broken in hal
