well guys i hate to be the baerer of bad news but the preliminary weights arent looking to promising. the weigh she sets right now on a fish scale is around 16lbs but out of the three times i weight it it was 16, 14, and 15 lbs. so when i get the time i will take and have it weighed on a digital scale.

I weighed mine again and on digital postal scale it reads 16 pounds 7 ounces.

Box stock with Evolution 45GX2 engine, APC 22-8 prop, Tru-Turn spinner and everything that came in the box.

    Nothing was changed or added.

That's with no fuel and a 6 cell NiMH ignition battery too!

One of the pilots I asked to help me fly the plane said it flew like a plane that was at least 2 pounds lighter.

Numbers don't lie. I guess we had false hopes with that 14.5 pound weight report. I am sure the plane is still an OK flyer at that weight, but my experience has been that heavier planes tend to show that weight at some point in time during aerobatic flight - particularly, for example, trying to recover from a low tumbling maneuver and just barely running out of air before pancaking it into the ground. If it were 2 pounds lighter, it could have been avoided...

I took my 14.8 lb claim back after I discovered our digital scale at work was reading inconsistant and replaced it . We're closed @ work till jan 5th so I can't weigh it now.

Bodywerks you just described the situation I got myself into and stuffed mine ! Actually it was my lack of skill who am I kidding

Surely skill has a bit to do with everything, if not most of it, but a lighter plane might have saved you, that's all I am saying. Saw the same thing with an H9 260 at 15 pounds. Guy fell out of a hover, plane pointed down, he added power and yanked back on the stick but, because of the higher wingloading, the plane didn't respond fast enough and it pancaked.

OK the FINAL weights are in! with a DA50, JR 8611a's, Li-po for the radio and nickel mettal for the ign., carbon spinner/wing tube lighter tail wheel(stock bracket) and nothing that isnt needed total weight was 15.5Lbs!!! alittle heavier then what i wanted but acceptable. The first flight will be on friday weather and time permitting. I will post on the results when i do get a chance to fly it

Well, that's not too bad. You could dump a half-pound off that by chucking the pitts muffler, and I am sure there is more room for a diet in other equipment choices...let us know how it flies!

I agree i could dump more wight by getting rid of the muffler but i would have to add nose weight to make it balance correctly and i probably could have gone with a lighter servo but i dont like anything else out there
