Instructions say the servo arm on the aileron servos should face the wing root.

This would make a rather strange angle for the pushrod from servo to control surface, it looks to line up much more square if I use the servo arm towards the wing tip.

Has anybody else come across this?

Nope it was dumb thumb its all repairable. A friend of mine was flying it and did a high rate spin low to the ground and got it into a snapping situation when he came out of it and ended up snapping it into the ground. Luckily it landed in a level attitude and all it broke was one elevator half the motor box and ripped the landing gear off of it and put two holes in the bottom of the wing and broke a couple ribs as well as a couple of glue joints in the fuse. All in all its repairable. but my friend felt bad and replaced the airframe for me. I have less then a month to get this thing back in the air and trimmed out for IMAC. Problem is im in the middle of a move. The engine is at DA right now getting checked out hopefully it will get a clean bill of health.

    Maidened my Cap 232G today.

It is my first large scale aeroplane, specs as follows:

    DA-50R
    Slimline Pitts-style muffler
    Truturn spinner, non-drilled out backplate
    Bolly wood 22x8
    HS-5985MG x4
    HS-5055TG x1
    HS-225MG x1
    Fromeco 2600 + 5200mAh LiIon's through Regulators at 6V.

I set up rates as per instructions, CG towards fwd part of recommended range, total weight 7.7kg, I did not add any additional weight, my LiIons sit inside motor mount box.

The engine ran beautifully and has a lovely sound, on low rates I found the ailerons very sensitive, with 25% expo on all channels.

It flew very nicely with plenty of power, ground handling excellent as expected for a larger aircraft, big prop provides excellent drag making landings way easier than a standard glow 2-stroke model.

The CG could move aft but I will not rush into moving it.

I like this aeroplane, if anyone wants any pics I will take some but it just looks like everybody elses

I will see if I can get some video.

I have gone Spektrum, so far no problems whatsoever in this thing or my Raptor 90SE heli.

I'll admit it... I was the plane wrecker.... the plane REALLY flew nicely... but I just got it in a weird spot...inverted harrier.. a bit too low...pulled too hard and smack......

This thing is nice.. very stable.. draws nice lines for IMAC, and super stable in high alpha stuff.....

Flyguy, hope the "re"build is going OK...
    You shooting for Jackson?

Guys there isn't a great choice of pilots in Australia, can I please have some help choosing a pilot for my Cap

I think this guy is too big, and my partner thinks he is a bit nerdie:

Is this cool dude too small at 3 1/4"?

Finally there are these two which look like close to the right size, around 100mm / 4inches high though my partner dislikes the sunnies on green shirt man:

Thanks for helping me shop for pilots

P.S. If it is a nice day tomorrow I will get some video.

Here is the instrument panel I am using in my new CAP 232g. I made it from a photo of an actual CAP cockpit. The first one is generic and the second one has some decals on it. I just printed it out on heavy photo paper and glued it on. It looks great with the Canopy on.

I just need two more servos and it will be ready to go.

    Have fun.
