Any new timeline on when the 3.50 comes out?
...

It was out as of today at the Realflight web-site.
I have downloaded and installed it.

I have a question on the helicopter/airplane hovering and orientation training.
Can one change the aircraft being used in the training?
The helicopter hovering and orientation training seems to use the Dominion 3D model and I would like to change the model.

Yeah. Freezing tends to be at the system/driver level, whereas bombing out to the desktop tends to be bugs in program code.

Of course there are exceptions to this...

Just an update on mine; I re-installed( but didnt delete the previous) G3.5 last night and I think that did the trick.I played multiplayer for almost 3 hours in a arena called combat with no lock-ups or glitches, and let me tell you, we all had a BLAST!! Several of us tried to knock each other out of the air via head-on crashes and by dogfighting- its harder than it sounds. Finally a couple of us drove the big airship and let the others take out their frustrations on us. Finally, another member and myself battled each other in the airship. We were like a bunch of kids in there, and maybe some of them were
One question for anyone maybe OPJOSE; I have mcafee virus protection , spam killer, privacy protection and a firewall , (all under the mcafee icon) that I turned off last nite during our little session, just to maybe eliminate any computer hangups or freezing after the re-install. Is it necessary to turn all those off while online multiplayer? I just did that to see if I could get thru without any issues, but I really didnt feel good about letting my guard down while online, know what I mean?
Now, if we could only get Knifedge to install some machine guns on them planes !!!
Thanks guys!
John

If your screen saver uses password protection, you may experience errors if it turns on while RealFlight
is running. Disable your screen saver's password protection while running G3.5 to avoid these difficulties.

This is another possible problem. It is a good idea to get the latest driver for your hardware.

Just gave mine a quick test. SO far no problems. Kudos to Great planes for making this a free upgrade and not charging for it.

I just downloaded my upgrade, I kept checking but it always said I had the latest ver..
so was two days late, until I seen it on the site, so I went to the launcher and retried and
the same thing.. So I tried the something about other versions and saw the 3.5 update..
I thought I would have problems on my 6yr old puter, but it seems to be OK so far, I do
leave alot off to help it run better... But one question....

I get very little online muiltplayer links?? Is there a trick to that on getting more?? Also
there is a few that when I try to connect, it will come back host needs to upgrade, I guess
I understand what that means.. But I also get some message that says "I" need to go online
and upgrade?? Guess that means Ido not have the right add-ons?? I just have the game
with add-on #2.... ANyway 3.5 seems to be better

It took more than an hour to download the 260mbyte file last night but it was worth the wait. My broadband connection is lame compared to others out there. It looks like I averaged about 36 kbytes per second.

I didn't get to bed very early playing with the new features, especially the night flying experience. AWESOME!!!!

NOTE: With the right hardware this simulator is hard to beat.

HP m7680n Media Center PC
Intel Core 2 Duo - 6400 -- 2.13GHz
(2)Gbyte of DDR2 4200 memory
(2)250GByte Sata 7200 disk storage
On-board audio
Coolpower Radeon X800 GT 256 PCIe video card

NOTE: I had to replace the Geforce 7300 LE video card and because of that had to replace the 300 watt power supply for an Antec 480 powersupply.

One additional feature I noticed, is you can partially damage your airplane and still be able to fly it -- lost a landing gear and didn't know it until I landed.

Jim, why did you have to replace your video card? Thats the same one I have and its doing good.
I had nothing but trouble last nite when I played multiplayer, I dont know what was going on but after about 3 minutes of online play, I kept getting booted off. It happened about 5 times, finally I said to heck with this and went to bed! AAARRRGGHH!

You shouldn't need to disable any of the McAffee stuff...

Only the firewall may interfere with on line gaming, but McAffee firewall should pop up and ask if you wish to let G3 accept connections.

McAffee (and most of the Norton Home suites) have rather large memory footprints... in that they eat up a lot of system resources (RAM).

The real time scan also scans files as the system loads them, so it may slow down performance...

A fast hard drive system helps this though...

It will run but it is jumpy and ultra sensitive with some airplanes.

Tried to upgrade to 3.5 to no avail. I clicked the "update to latest" button, and it proceeded to download something (scroll bars, etc.). But all I get when I start up is 3.0. Now if I go back to the "update" button, it says I have the latest version. I feel 3.5 is somewhere in my computer, I just can't access it. Any clues?
