what is the most precise servoes hitec has? to use on a 2x2 pattern?
one to the rudder... needs to be strong.and quick and presice.
two to elevator(one each): they has to be totally equal on the sentering and of cause has the exactly same movement, but since there is two, they do not need to be as strong as the rudder.
and two on the ailerons(one each), and of cause they has to have exactly the same movement, sentering and speed. and precission.

and what do you reccomend on throttle?

what do you reccomend?

Our best servos are noted below, I'd suggest the 5995TG for all surfaces, but if you prefer faster less powerful servos the 5965 or 5985 are viable alternatives. For throttle I use the digital HS-6965 Karbonite geared servos for our GS models... However any of the titanium geared units listed below will work admirably as well.

what I am after is resolution and precission, and how well it centers.

The servos I noted are as good as it gets with regard to centering and resolution. Together with the utilization of the Hitec Programmer you'll have an unparalleled system capable of matching your TX to your on-board radio system. The Programmer is not required, BUT it’s simply a must have IMO with Hitec Digitals from programming Hitec digitals to setting up and or testing any brand of servos/Receiver…

I use the 6965 in my pattern size plane (1/4 scale 11 lbs aerobat) and they are very good and they are outstandingly fast. Makes for the best control feel I have ever seen in any plane and any servo. Too bad I can't use them in my giant planes.

The servo is perfect for all control surfaces except the rudder on which it is a bit too weak. The rudder is oversize and I suspect no pattern plane has that big conrtol surfaces. For normal 3D at low speeds, it is perfect. At high speeds and IMAC type flying I can feel some blow back.

Only the 5955 is titanium geared from the Hitec website

I am thinking of the 5985mg.. is that good for all surfases or do the aileron make to much vibration for it?
and what is actually needed for throttle?
all it does is move a lever for the engine.
what is reccomended for that?

and for a 90size pattern, do the same servoes goes there or is something other good enough.. Same precission is needed but dont need that torche, or is the lesser powerfull also lesser presice so to get a 90 zise good you need the same servos?
or what is right?

Your're right I listed the Alumilite alloy geared servos...

Try these:
HSC-5996TG http://hitecrcd.com/Servos/HS5996TG.htm
HSC-5997TG http://hitecrcd.com/Servos/HS5997TG.htm
HSC-5998TG http://hitecrcd.com/Servos/HS5998TG.htm

Isn't the 5995TG a robotics servo???

Did you mean the 5955TG?

As I said, those 6965s are VERY good IMO. Much tighter gear train than metal gear servos and the same percision from the coreless motor. They are a bit lighter and bottom end is that they are more precise than metal gear servos due to the gear train. Along with good linkages, it makes for a TRULY slop free setup.

Use the same in the smaller plane and don't have spares as they will be in the other plane.

For throttle, I don't know any Hitec servo that is very precise and smaller than standard so I use the Futaba 9101 which is high speed and coreless with nylon gears.

FWIW: The Futaba 9101 is a standard size analog coreless servo @ .18 sec with 43 oz-in. and its been discontinued for some time now.

Hitec’s HS-6965 Karbonite units which you are fond of; are coreless, verry precise, much faster, much stronger, digitally amplified, programmable, the same physical size and perhaps more expensive too.

Have you used a titanium geared servo yet, gear-train wear seems to be non-existent and these servos are very tight when new?

Hi Mike,

Yes I have used three 5955s and absolutely love them. They are in a 33% Extra on elevators and rudder, one on each surface. The one on the rudder has now 2 seasons or about 200 flights of mixed 3D and IMAC and is still quite tight. This is one from the very first batch which don't work on a Y. Plenty of power and very precise. Looking forward to get a bunch more as soon as possible. I did not remember the 9101s were that slow. I may have to upgrade that and keep them for choke...

As for the gear train wear of 5955s I agree it is quite non-existent. The point is they still have some slop, less than other metal gear servos I have here, but defenitely more slop than 6965s. The guy is asking for the best available servo for a pattern plane that is 11 lbs or less. I really don't think 333 oz-in of torque is required for a pattern plane. So in a pattern application, Karbonites are still better than titaniums IMO.

I just hope I do not look like the guy arguing to death...
