Hi guys,
i'm finaly done (build up) with my extra 260... i bought a Tru-Turn spinner for my DL-50. But the backing plate don't have the 4 holes around the middle one. Do i have the good one or i have to make them my self ? The center hole of the backingplate is too small too, do i have to make it bigger ? Maybe i just don't have the good spinner too ?

Please help.
Can't wait to fire my DL-50.

Doesnt sound like the spinner is for a DL - DA 50. Every one that I've ordered from Tru Turn had all the holes pre drilled in them.

Order a backplate drilled for a DA50 from TruTurn. Give them the diameter. I have a few drilled for DA's and Evolutions from TruTurn, never had a problem and they are nice people.

I have a dl-50, I ordered a tru turn spinner for a da-50, it was a perfect fit. Very nice spinner by the way. All holes were pre drilled, isnt that nice guys, wen you buy a part and you can put it on without having to do something to make it work.

hrb74 its a power house, I have a Aeroworks 50cc Extra 260 that weighs rite at 18 pounds and running 32:1 oil mixture, and that engine will pull that plane unlimited vertical at half throttle. I know some people like to exaggerate about things but that is the truth. Im very pleased with it, its also very easy to start. I must admit, it is my first gasser, I dont have much experience with them but this thing rocks. Im getting ready to order a 100cc Extra 300 from aeroworks and the dl-111 is definately the engine that im going to buy for it. Im NOT nocking da, and never will. Ive herd nothing but good things about them.

Hey Moki,

you have same plane same engine than me ... did you reinforce you engine box or your firewall in any way (glue, pin...) Let me know because i fire my DL yesterday and holy man that thing pull very much (not even went over 1/3). So, i'm wondering after my break-in when i will test my high rpm if the engine box will survive ????

Anybody else have a opinion on that.

Thanks guy

Probably fly this weekend

Pascal

No, but I did take some 30 minute epoxy and a brush and painted it on the front. I didnt do it for strength, I did it for fuel proofing. I know that they come fuel proofed already, I just did it for the heck off it. That plane is built awesome!!!! Im very, very pleased with it. I moved up to this plane from a 40 size great planes big stick, and that was a big change, lol. But I really love this plane and im getting used to it.

This is my first gas plane. The DL50 has run great on the ground. Trying to make it to the field for the maiden. Weather has been terrible when I'm off work. Now, the next two days there calling for wind and thunderstorms when I'm off. Cockpit is a Virtual Cockpit from WrightRC. Pilot is Aerowork's Realistic Scale Pilot. I had to repaint shirt to better match the arms. Really looks cool.

Plane came out a little heavy (as all my planes seem too). Part of that is because I'm running dual ancient 2000mAh Nimh's and the Troy Built pitts muffler weighs 8oz (which really did help with balancing though). Weight is 19lbs. Servos are Hobbico CS 150 193oz @6V MG digitals.

Thanks. Its the 33% one from Aeroworks. Fit perfectly. I talked to them at the Toledo show and they didn't bring any pilots, so he said to call them Monday and order it and they'd give me free shipping. Great guys. He even wanted me to send some pics since he hadn't seen a virtual cockpit installed in one of their planes.

hrb74, on your elevator halves... They may both be getting to the same place, but are they getting there at the same time. Try this to see if they are. Tape a 12" section of small carbon rod (or a similar stiff rod) to each halve. Tape them to where they are equally spaced and they should come to a point together past the rudder. I bet one side is coming up a little slower than the other, and then at the end of the throw it catches up... A matchbox may be in your future if this is the case (there are other fixes too that work)...

Had my maiden today. Only got in two flights before I was having major interference on the right elevator. The other one works fine as does all the other control surfaces. I am using an Expert Electronics servo reverser. Talked to Horizon tech and they said it was ok to use with the Spektrum 2.4. Manual says not to use any type of electronic y-harness with the 2.4, but these are not what the manual is referring too. Running dual NiMh with a Fly-Smart Batshare. Any ideas? Does it with ignition off too. Messed with it when I got home and it was doing it and now I've tried later and now I cant get it to do it at all. I've been trying for 20 minutes and its fine now. Dont get it.

Plane flew great. Only two clicks of up elevator and none on ailerons (think thats a first). Engine ran great. 7400rpm's with a 22x8 Xoar. Didnt have anyone to flim an inflight video. Just wish I didnt have to stop due to the interference.

UPDATE: IT WAS A FAULTY SERVO REVERSER

The graphics look great. I have been using JR matchboxes without a problem, they just cost more.

If your talking about rubbing alcohol; yes you can use it. I've used it for years, but simple green really works good too.
