Guys for those of you that are still on the fence about the new 50cc 260 QB check out this review. Mind you it was built while this young man went to school, basketball practice, and homework. All by himself using minimal tools and working in his living room. All of this happened between September 18th and september 22nd and the plane was flown on September 23rd! Check out the videos posted on the thread too. Oh and for all of you weight freeks out there this one came in at 16.5lbs built bone stock! Speacial thanks to Tony Thomasian for the awesome review. 260 Review

I got my kit a few days ago and everything looks real good. Some of the flight controls are a little stiff in one direction. It looks like the hinges are set a little deep. Still have plenty of throw but its putting a lot of strain on the hing pins. All in All its one sweet kit. I wish the BME 55 was ready I would like to put it on this airframe. looks like my third DA 50 will be coming shortly. Does anybody know why the servo TQ min is now 180 inch oz? It is 130 in.oz. min for the Yak. I do think the 130 in. oz. was a little week but it does fly good with the HS-5645 on my Yak. I think I will put the New HS-8965 on this bird. The Hs 5645 seem to get real sloppy pretty fast and are a little pron to blow back. The HS-5955 on the rudder is a must and thats all I use for all my rudder servos and on all my control surfaces on the bigger planes. The fit and finish on this kit is one of the best I have seen. the wing fit nice and tight. they just snap into place. I,m opting to try to build this baby as light as I can. Does anbody have any pics of this plane with the Da side mount muffler mounted on the Da 50. I was woundering how it looked? Like how much of the cowl was cut out. The DA muffler is lighter than the pitts wrap around type and is good for 300 more RPM. But it somtimes looks a little bulky when the cowl is all cut up to make it fit. Well its time to get on with it the build that is. Lets keep the info coming guys this is going to be a real barn burner for the 50 cc class planes.
PS: Thanks Rocco for all your help with the Yak it is one fine machine and your help has been greatly appreciated !

The more I look this kit over the more I LOVE IT. In one word WOW!!! Anybody wondering about this plane, buy it you will not be disapointed. If it flys anything like it looks it should be the best plane yet. The paint finish is so nice and the stripes all match up perfect the covering is tight and has NO wrinkels. In two words FIRST CLASS!!! This weekend I,m starting the build. I will keep you posted. I have to get this plane done ASAP the weather up here in Michigan is starting to get cold. Flying time is getting short. This is where the QB really shines!!!

Don't let the lack of wrinkles keep you from going over it REAL good before you fly it! All ARF's will get wrinkles eventually...

Thats a given. I was just stating that it looks Great!! I always go over every ARF kit and iron down everthing. Its a on going thing. You have to recheck you covering after each day at the field. Arf of not. It will show some bubbles and wrinkels even after a good iron job once it goes out into the sun. I have all my servos ordered and batteys and all the little stuff to geter done. I,m using my DA 50 off my YAk for the engine and the YAk is getting a new 3W 55I. Little more power but also more weight. I plan on doing some weight reducing mods to the YAK to help keep the weight in check and make good use of the 6HP the 3W 55I has to offer. Heres the list of eqiupment that is going into the Extra. HS5245MG on thottle,HS5985 Ele. and Ail. HS5955TG on rud. Fromeco 2400 Lion batterys for Ignition and rec. With Smart fly Reg on Ign. and Fromeco reg on Rec. DA50 & Slimline Wraparound muff. I'm using Hanger 9 tit. turn buckels and carbon fiber rods for the thottle pushrod. SWB horns 1.25" and a 3" on the Rud. Futaba 9Ch.PCM rec. Pics to follow once everthing shows up from TBM.
Well I had lots of equipment arrive today from TBM for my Extra 260:
4 Hitec 5985MG for Aileron/Rudder 1 Fromeco Peerless 4800mAh 7.4V Li-Ion battery and Regulator SWB Pull-Pull Servo Arm Smart-Fly Ignition Cutoff Two JR HD switches Various lengths of servo extensions
Pretty much have everything to get going except time... I did get my elevator surfaces hooked up and working well.
