He must have moved on to other things.

And Wayne, your delta looks great. But definetly nicer than the whole "Slab O' Foam" concept that Herb started with this thread. YOU MADE IT TOO NICE! ! ! !

Sadly CH's website is no more and that's where the "plans", such as they were, were located. If the Giant Delta is to carry on someone will need to parse through all the early posts for hints on the sizes of the parts and redo the plans.

Well, I havent been on in a long while, my giant delta is still hanging from the cieling (for the past 4 years) unfinished. I have decided it is time to bring it down and finish it, I may have to pressure wash the dust off first.

I'll let you guys no how it goes.

I need to figure out how to figure the CG on this thing though, I know there was a link on one of the many posts on this forum posting, I will just have to find it.

I've had the best performance with the C/G at 22" from the rear of the Delta wing, not the elevons. The original plans state 20 - 24" from the rear of the wing. The updated plans with the simi airfoil state 20-22" from the rear of the wing.

Well after 6 years of hanging from the cieling inthe garage I finally got some work done to the Delta.

alot of sanding, filling, sanding, priming, sanding, filling, and more sanding I have it primed and ready for paint.

Still some areas that could use more filling and sanding but I am done with that stage.....

Hopefully painting the underside today.

I have an almost new supertiger 90 that I will use.

I painted the bottom yesterday with some left over polyurathane paint I had from a full size aircraft.

I am painting it white on top and bottom and then adding some detailing.

After seeeing how the bottom turned out I will have to do a little more work on the top before I paint it, I want the top to really shine.

Sounds like it will have plenty of power. What size prop will you be using? I power my GD with a Tower Hobbies .75 using a 13X6 APC prop and it scoots pretty good.

Hello,

Finally around to finishing it up, it is complete except for balancing and setting control throws.

I am concerened with the weight though and the CG, it weighs 14 Lbs without balancing.

Mine is smaller than the blue prints, mine is 37" long with a WS of 73 inches.

Using the CG calculator from the link above putting in a 29% MAC it shows it should be 19.2 inches from the nose, or to make it easier 17.8 inches from the rear, does this sound about right???

And do you think a 2 stroke 90 will even get this beast off the ground????

I will post pictures in a few....

Thanks
