M.C,
It definitely is a better video and it shows off the Katana very well.

beachflier,
If you haven't already done so, try saving the file to your hard drive. It is one huge (69.4 meg) file but only runs for 4:16.
It is an mpg video file and I often have trouble playing those directly from the host server but they play OK if you download them. The wmv video files always play well for me whether I play them from the host server or download them.

Hi guys,

Hope this drums up a bit more interest/enthusiasm...sure is an awesome plane.

I cannot take credit for the video - it was filmed and edited by Shahid of unlimitedrc
...and of course flown by Nath

Matt

Ps. With this size of file you can't really stream it; it has to be downloaded

I have been eyeing this up ever since I saw Ultra with the first one at our field a few months ago. Seeing the video the other day and having a nice Saito sitting here myself, I pulled the trigger earlier today and ordered mine up. I ordered mine through the website, no problems. I should have mine early next week. I'll post info as I get her started.

I can't believe this thread is so dead

Anyway, I got the my Brison 2.4 mounted up and the cowl cut and mounted on mine. I have the stock Brison(loud) side dump muffler, so the cowl got hacked pretty good. This Brison spins an NX 20x8 at 7300 to 7400 rpm and is only 6 ozs heavier than the Brillelli 36 that everyone is going nuts over. Those figures correlate to 25lbs of thrust or thereabouts. Man, It's gonna be fun...

Does the Brison make more power than the Brillelli, I have been leaning towards the OS 1.60 to stay way light, but am interested in gas and max power. If one was to put cost aside what would be the ultimate motor and still keep the lightweight theme of this plane or should I stick with the OS, I am having a hard time deciding on this one as I want it to be a great flyer and still have awesome power and pullout.

Lightest weight and highest HP would be a YS 160 DZ. As far as the Brison over the Brillelli, I'm only going by the numbers I got on mine vs. the numbers posted on the Brillelli 36 thread. If I didn't already own the Brison, I'd go for the Brillelli.

not sure what a YS 160 weighs but the Saito 220 is 1oz. less than a OS 160 when both are using stock mufflers, both engines spin with in 200 rpm's of each other,i am going to use the 220 in this plane, should be some real nice power to weight numbers.

Has anyone had any real problems with this plane?
ENJOY!

If one was to put cost aside then the YS 160 would be the best set up. That was me flying my katana/YS160 set up in the video that M.C posted. M.C also has a giles with an mvvs 45mg that flys sooooo light. This plane is so underrated and i cant believe how dead this kat thread is. I shall post here more often with pics and videos!!!!

Closetguy,

I think the YS is somewhere around 34 or 36 ozs. Thats about 10 oz less than the O.S. 160. It also costs 2x more!
