I finally scrapped the gasoline engine idea for this plane and have ordered the Saito 150 for it ( I own one 150 already, it runs very well and swings an 18-6 prop superbly on 10% nitro and it will fit in the Texan cowl). Now my next plan is what brand / where from to buy a fake radial. I see that TopFlight has a 1/5 scale and 1/7 scale 9 cyclinder radial, I think the Midwest Texan cowl falls between them in opening size. Or do you guys take the next best size and just use that ? In this case it would be the 1/7 if I'm correct.

Rich Uravitch sells a vacuum formed dummy radial specifically for the Midwest Texan. Not the best detail but it is a starting point and it is the right size. I think that Frank Tiano probably has a cast resin dummy radial that would work as well.

Thanks much Chad ! At the club field today people were saying that they think that Williams Bros is back doing this as well ( new owner /new management / what ever). I'll check out all leads.
