This is what 26cc Evos go like at around 1/2 power. If you need more than this .......

the one think i hate about gas engines is the big spark plug with cap and wire hanging out in the breeze. i am thinking of having the cylinders facing in board so that the plug and wires are between cowl and fuselage. A30cc three cylinder would be perfect or the Saito 200 converted to gas might be a good option, but thats out of my price range specially for a semi scale plane. it looks like those G-26's stick out past the cowl some anyway. I might look at making a muffler that be help tone the sound down some and try to get a lower note out of the engine and not lose power over stock muffler.

I think more of a speed plane than scale for me. the 30's ESM gear.

Here is one.  There are others earlier in this forum.  I also have a link to a really neat video cam mounted to the nose.  I'll have to look for it.

Fingers crossed but we hope to have 2 'Cats up at Awatoto on 5th March. COMON DAMO, PULL FINGER!!!!!! Hopefully there should be some video shot so will post. If all goes well we will have them up duing the furball (as many big WW2 fighters up as we can cope with, usually 5-7, flying low fast circuits in formation.) I cant wait......

HI Guys.
I'm in the middle of building one of these.
I'll be using a pair of CRRC GF26's, Assan 2.4Mhz, Wike PDS & Twinsync, Dual A123 Battery's and the KMP retract set.
I've had to do some moding to the wings so I can fit bolts throught the innner & outer wings that go into the wing tube. This is so I can break it do for transport.
I'm chasing some covering.
Can anybody let me know were I can get some matching covering?

Cheers
Grossy

noworknguy,
I don't know about the other one but the Tigercat needs a lot of labor to make it look nice, anyone had the tigercat been through this but it was fun :-) The Robin I had very easy to put together.

Tom

What problems did the all composite one from KMP have? Thank you.

Main issues were
- Wing spar structure was of questionable integrity, at centre of wing. (fixable)
- Paint blisters in the sun. (not fixable)
- Some batches had some misalignment between nacelles and adjoining wing panels. (fixable)

On the positive side:
- Shrouded hinge gaps
- Panel lines
- Air intakes on leading edge were already faired into the wing & painted to match
- Scale gloss finish

I've got the fully molded version, and if I had the choice, I would still get the molded version. I fixed the wing spar issue, and just keep it in the shade at the field.

Hi all,

i went to VQWARbird site and look at two retracts set :
CJM ESM F-7F TIGERCAT RETRACT SET : 483 §
ESM F-7F TIGERCAT RETRACTS : 169 $

could anyone tell me what's the real difference (except the price) between the two sets and your advice about it ?

Just finished up an ESM Pilatus PC-21, and love how it turned out. Subscribing so I can follow the conversation on this plane, as it will likely be my next ESM project. So did KMP stop making them then?

KMP never did make them - they were just importing/distributing/selling the ESM product.

My buddy has Pilatus PC-21, it is beautiful airplane but it went down few weeks ago due to the fuel line got hard when he hung his airplane up side down on his garage ceiling, first we couldn't understand why because the engine started and run awesome, so since the nose section broke we pulled the tank out and check the fuel line and sure it is the line bent upward close to the top so when the fuel ran low the fuel line couldn't suck the fuel anymore. DO NOT HANG YOUR AIRPLANE UPSIDE DOWN :-)
